Ps3 main tanking.

I was just trying to show ps3 players can do endgame content.. But these guys are flaming me like i talked about their mothers.

I wasn't flaming you at all. Simply stating that I think (personally) that its a myth that content is harder on the PS3 than the PC. I don't game well with a KB and feel much more at home with a controller. Its not that much of a leap to say that it won't be that difficult compared to using a KB, for me at least.

I also am not really sure what you are looking for here. Are you looking for validation of your skills or proof that its hard to tank on the PS3?

If ps3 has a true disadvantage it's with reaction times on using abilities.

Our MT has stated on some occasions that he doesn't even use {Insert Ability} because he's out of slots on the UI, and switching to a new panel for more buttons isn't effecient.

Meanwhile on the PC, I have a hot key for Every single ability I have on one set of hotbars without having to switch to anything.

And as to which is better, Controller or KB/Mouse,

That's all about experience and motor memory. I've been gaming on a KB and Mouse since Windows 3.0 and Wolfenstein 3D. So for me, trying to use a controller to steer my character and select stuff is much harder for me than with a Keyboard and Mouse.

I have my keyboard completely memorized, I can press or type anything without even looking at it, (all 102+ keys and combinations) As such I like to think I'm faster than a PS3 player because there is more than I can do as quick or faster then they can. I don't have to switch menus to do something, I just press something because it's all on one UI.

I main tank on ps3 and have no problems doing it and I can even link videos. Its not hard at all its just down to preference imo.

All i wanted was input from.. MAIN TANKS ON PS3... So far i've seen none.. And instead i get flamed by people who arent even tanks much less on ps3. Wanna keep flaming? Knock yourselves out.

Just finished reading the whole thread and I hate to tell you this, no one is flaming you. You are just being defensive. I play on a PS3 for part time fun (ie. Crafting and leveling.), however from reading other posts here there is no limitation on the processing power of the PS3 once you are in the fights that are instanced, you are the first that I have heard mention this even. Maybe your PS3 is having problems and it's a personal issue ... might wanna clean out the PS3 and make sure it's not overheating.

Honestly, this thread's topic doesn't feel like a 'vindication and verification' topic. It feels more like another differentiation topic, one whose sole goal is to make one console more different from the other. It's all about how it's worded, how the topic demands proof then goes on about how hard it is to use. I've been playing on the PS3 since Release and I first started playing last May in 1.2. I used a controller in 1.2. Alot of people did. Heck, I got my Van Darnus win using a controller (something that was deemed 'impossible' then). Only difference now, the action bar fits the controller instead of being an act of memorization. As a white mage I find my job in a party slightly harder than the tank's because while the tank only needs focus on the mob at hand, and maybe adds, I have the whole of the party to be concerned about, yet I have had no loss of ability to do that job for being on a PS3. Stop trying to make PS3 players look different. We aren't and never will.

when i made this thread, i specifically asked for PS3 MAIN TANK PLAYERS to post about their clears.. so i can compared stories and see if they had a hard time tanking as i did on ps3, merely to see if maybe its my ps3 messing up.. or if maybe the game runs differently on certain ps3 models. instad i get a bunch of people.. that dont even come close to the type of audience i was aiming for.. in this case, PS3 COIL TANKS.. but i've had enough of trying to explain myself to the audience i WASNT aimimg for.

I don't really see the point of this thread here... it seems to me like the OP wants people to shower him with sparkles and tell him he's amazing for playing on the PS3. For that I'll give you this...

Back to the point though, I am a tank and I have this game on PS3 and PC, I have played the majority of the content on both, except for coil, simply because I'm not going to limit myself, and the party, by playing on the PS3. It's really just that simple, I know I play better on the PC, so I choose to play on the PC for coil.

I don't really know what you're striving for here OP but I'm sure that reading this post will make you happy because you'll more than likely think 'Yay, another tank that gives up on the PS3' when I haven't given up on the PS3, I play it here and there, I simply choose not to limit myself by playing on the PS3.

Which turn is he on? Controller tanking is not an issue, processing is.. Also i use ps3 slim since my fatty died.

Just beat T2 so basically T4. He doesn't have any issues MTing any of the bosses. The processing isn't an issue. If it becomes an issue then turn something off. Enemy names over their heads, All HP bars over their heads, animations for other players, etc. There are things you can do on PS3 to make it equal to a PC. With just 2 skill rings to cycle between, you have more than plenty of skill slots.
