This is quite simple. The ground indicators are there as a warning. If you're not in the ground indicator when the attack graphic goes off, then YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE DAMAGE. if you do take damage, as you do a lot of the time in this game, then something is not right. Otherwise, why have the indicators at all? Stop making excuses and support SE fixing their game.
