The point is that since the combo of allagan + darksteel is 10% worse (about) than stardust +1 if the allagan weapon becomes 10% better than it is. That makes it exactly a side grade. Also if something crazy happened and allagan was 50% better than it is currently every other class gets that 50% boost but BLM gets a 40% boost.

You're forgetting the Magic Damage stat that the new ilvl will give Allagan. Even if it's just 1 Magic Damage, that's worth more than the stats you lose using Darksteel. Still not as good as having a ilvl 95 Offhand of course, but likely better than Stardust +1, easily.

I'm not forgetting it I'm leaving it out because it makes the point that all other classes get a better upgrade than BLM clearer. Yes it could be negligible depending on the mAtk boost but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Hmm, once more non BLMs have to nuke threads about this problem again and again, same exact people. What is so wrong that we ask to be equal to every single job in the game that get something out of Twintania except us?

Using a lvl 70 HQ shield does not put us in equal ground with every single job in the game. Everyone will have a ilvl 95 weapon from Twintania, except us getting the short end of the stick and getting an inferior drop. How is that fair? I don't understand anyone logic. You keep arguing about Ancient Buckler is not a Coil drop cause of the name. Let me tell ya...it is not the problem, ANCIENT BUCKLER NEVER WAS the problem.

In short the problem is every job will have a full fledge ilvl 95 drop from Twintania, except BLMs, they are going to get an inferior drop and get treated as a second rate job FOR NO LOGICAL or acceptable reason. Honestly this problem boil my blood and we are getting no help from the mods here, we posted about this problem everywhere they asked us to...yet nothing. I honestly now just want to know why we are getting treated like this, a second rate job, I no longer care about receiving an ilvl90 (95) shield, I just want to know why?

A: Progress will not be recorded. However, we'll be updating the Crystal Tower every other patch just like the Binding Coil of Bahamut, and you'll need to clear the Labyrinth of the Ancients that is to be implemented in patch 2.1 in order to take on the next phase in patch 2.3.

Note the part I bolded and underlined. While it's pure speculation perhaps ancient shield and ancient buckler come from this section of Crystal Tower; however, I know it contradicts that i80 gear drops from Crystal Tower. But perhaps these are two exceptions or the i90 is just a place holder until it's released, and it'll become i80.

If his assumption is true then BLM will be on par with everyone the only thing that we are missing is an ilvl 90 off hand. Which would be fine if they didn't drop the ilvl to 80.

Hmmm sorry m8, but in what world? if the shield get downgraded to i80, means it will have less stat that what it has on the loadestone, same exact problem stands out.
The only solutions to this problem are:

- We get ilvl90(95) Shield.
Or
- Allagan Sceptre get upgraded to two hand staff.

Either one of theses will solve the problem.

Otherwise, start grinding fates to switch to SMN to be on par with everyone else if this problem do not get addressed.

Already mentioned this possibility in the OP.

2. SE decides that the ilvl 90 weapon for BLM from extreme modes is going to be 1-hand and completing the quest will give you that weapon as well as the ancient buckler.
- I'd be fine with this as well, it would be an interesting way to go and you wouldn't have to do coil every week hoping for it to drop, you'd just get it from a somewhat challenging quest.
