    We need speech bubbles!

Please include this! it is such a basic feature that I'm shocked it was left out, whats even weirder is NPCs get them but not players!

Also, if you add them for players, please PLEASE make them on by default. almost no one will turn them on if it's just added without making them defaulty on.

95% of the time I ever talk in /s no one ever responds and just keeps moving on. about 80% of the time I will get a /tell later saying they just noticed I said something because they were looking at the screen and not the chat box.

No thanks, way too much clutter. Every game I've seen with speech bubbles has had a really cheap and lazy feel. Reminds me of PSU or Runescape.

Every mmo with? you mean every mmo. They are always optional a well so there is 0 reason to not include them.

    Yes, yes, yes.

    Totally agree.

I was very disappointed to discover no chat bubbles.

I'm sorry OP but I'd have to agree with this one. Speech bubbles do seem to give it a low-end feeling. XI never had speech bubbles and was perfect the way it was. If people aren't noticing your /says tell them in /tell if you really want them to get what you're trying to communicate. People just have to get accustomed to paying attention to different chat types/windows.

Agreed, speech bubbles would be awesome. As a roleplayer, it helps easily see who's speaking on a level that is similar to real life. You see the person, you notice what they are communicating to you. We have such beautiful visuals to work with, why have yourself searching the busy little text box on the bottom of your screen? It creates a disconnect with the person's visual avatar and their text where a chat bubble near the PC helps make communication more intuitive.

Why not just have an option to have them on or off?
Some want them and some don't, personally I'd like them

No chat bubbles is a major nerf to roleplayers. Having to look at a chatbox instead of our characters as we interact is very disengaging from the very interaction our characters are having. <insert frownie moogle face>

I agree and support speech bubbles.

I actually tested how many players replied to my random conversations in /SAY while standing next to people, I rarely received a reply because there's no "Hey look a white bubble thing that wasn't there before.. and wait it says something"

Really to all players who dislike speech bubbles due to "Too much clutter or the view that it degrades the game", A simple fix will be an On / Off function in the options. Don't want to see it?, turn it off.

Speech bubbles that are able to be turned off an on would be fantastic. Please Square enix, the NPC's have it, why not us?
