Hate to break this to you but FFXI didn't have chocobo's for the first 4-5 months in JP Beta. Now should SE have learned in the 10 years since XI has been out? Probably. But don't go around acting like they owe you something just because the name "Final Fantasy" is on it.

Believe it or not, FFXI is not the sum of the entire final fantasy series. Hate to break it to you but chocobos have been in 90% of the FF games, and it's been a hell of a lot longer than 4-5 months since this game was released.

Scripting an entire mount system, physics, animations and skinning over a persistent world on a hardware server takes twice as long as coding it onto a disc. Considering that the dev team has been a failure for the last year or two, the company has lost numerous amounts of resources right in the middle of XIV development and the fact that they are rebuilding most of the core features from the ground up gives me enough rationality to see why they would be put in late.

FFXIV will be part of the 90% FF titles with chocobos. The XIV Dev team will not bend its prioritization on your incessant QQing over x and y. They will develop and release on the time schedule they have planned and they will get the game in am enjoyable state sooner rather than later.

I'd rather they had released the game in an enjoyable state in the first place.

That aside, like I said before they haven't really changed much of anything since release except a few quests and NMs. I have not seen a SINGLE SYSTEM in the last 9 months that was rebuilt from anything up, much less the ground, except perhaps the targeting system (which they somehow made even worse).

I get that they need to have priorities, what I don't like or agree with is the rationalization that every single thing they change should justifiably take 9 months+.

You're missing the point of a gifthorse/vesperia thread. Pick a topic it could be something off the wall or something talked about in the past, complain about how SE should fix or add topic or show a video of what they should add or just complain about SE, have the fan base bicker amongst each other, troll face, rinse, and repeat.

I have to admit, it's rather sad that it's gotten to the point where not only are players attacking each other, but they're actually defending SE's laziness. It's amazing, SE doesn't even have to pay for community reps because the playerbase is doing such an awesome job of defending Square's excuses on their own.

I hate to say this, but if that's the kind of community this game has bred, I kind of hope it either fails or SE changes it so radically that none of the older players will stick around.

This is just getting sad, it's like watching a bunch of beaten down dogs defending their abusive master.

We're saying there are vastly more important things, especially considering that transport right now isnt THAT bad if you manage your teleportation use.

Name one thread suggesting even the most BASIC of additions (most of which should have been in the game to start with) to the game that has not degrading into mud slinging name calling flame wars in the last 6 months.

Of course not everything should be added, but making any excuses for this travesty of a game release defending SE is just ridiculous. It's not even like they've changed much of anything since release, it's still 90%+ homogenous to release state. Until I see more than words, any defense of SE is inexcusable.
