PC vs PS3 vs PS4

Hi guys,

Just saw on Target's website that they are shipping out PS4 copies of FFXIV:ARR on 12/31/13 (whhaaatt?!?? ikr?). Has there been any comparisons or anything done on latency in 8 mans with PS3 vs PC? I noticed that if I wasn't hitting Spirits Within immediately on a high voltage, it would start to get sketchy whether or not the animation time was going to allow for an actual silence (not to say I missed often - no flames!) - I play on PS3.

Does anyone have experience on both PC and PS3 to be able to speak to if it would be worth it for me to get a PC copy and see if my 1yr old laptop could handle FFXIV? Or is that just on the server end? Part Deux, has there been any chatter about the PS4 version being any better than the PS3 version on that issue?

Also, any other glaring advantages of PC over PS3 in raiding content? The Xhotbar thing is manageable for me, I have it set up well enough to work without me attributing that a "disadvantage" tag.

Im pretty sure your 1 year old laptop can run the game, the game can run on even older machines.
On PC you can use TS/mumble/ventrilo.
No idea about everything else.

Yeah I have my lap top sitting on my coffee table and have all of them, mostly use vent.

I have PC and PS3 version.

PC version is far superior. Doing FATEs on PS3 is terrible during busy times, FATEs will be over before the mobs even load on your screen.

The HUD options and layouts are far superior on PC. CS and zones take too long to load on PS3 as well.

Thanks! I very much enjoy playing on my couch, but its probably worth the 15-30 bucks to at least check it out on my laptop.

You could always hook your PC/Laptop up to the TV and play on the couch. You'll have to tone the Resolution down and bump the font size etc depending on your setup.

use ssd on your ps3, helps a lot

The ps4 will likely look as good as any pc out at now with none of the limitations of the ps3. I love playing on my ps3, and I'll be that much happier once I get a ps4

Something about playing final fantasy makes me want to stick to the playstation. I always played final fantasy on the playstations. The only issue with the ps3 is fates at peak times. All of the dungeons run with no problem. Can't wait for ps4.
