Not a WP run... but I did make the egregious mistake of deciding to DF an AK this morning. I bailed after we failed to kill the first boss because 2 minarets were up continuously, they simply couldn't kill them. I, relic/DL/allagan warrior, somehow managed to parse above our BRD at my low 117dps to his 109dps. Our BLM came in at 133. We eventually died to massive obliterate spam and the healer eating a rockslide. Good times had by all!

For someone who has been running these for months... hitting a new low was fun.

I don't think we even cleared it the first time I tried it. This was before they made any changes to it though and it was harder even with the sac pulls and sneaking behind the little tonberries at the door.

Man... my first WP run was after they made it worthwhile to attempt. I told them i haven't done WP before and that i could use some pointers.

2 of them said it was cool and they'd explain it to me.

I had relic and the DD were gimpy and was trying to make it seem like i should know it because i have a relic. After telling them it's my first run AGAIN before the first pull and to let me know before or on the fly, they remain silent and the moment the big tonberry comes my way (i then realize i couldn't target it) they do more bitching and don't explain it and complain that i suck for not knowing it's untargetable. So once i go back to the entrance they bitch that they died and i left.

2 weeks later i do the run with some amazing players from my LS and when i go into DF again they cry and moan that i'm going too fast but thanks to my first shite WP party i ignore it all, gather as much as i can, and talk smack to dps who dare open their mouths lol.

My prediction: SE will keep war amazingly devastating in PvP so later down the line you must do lolPvE to get PvP stuff... and that will fix the 'lack of tank' issues. /pets cat.

My first run was a few months ago with two dps friends (pretty much all in quest AF). Went in blind. Thing that stands out most if that we tried to prioritize adds on the slime boss based on the debuff they did instead of just mindlessly aoeing them all down. Yay for being punished for trying to have intelligent target selection.

My first run was a bit of a challenge I ran it with ilvl 50 bard gear and a GC weapon. We wiped once on the pudding boss, then once on the king. I just used DF for that run and it really was a decent party.

My first run of WP was before the changes... and it was a cake walk (and profitable!). We went through, killed everything, looted every chest and basically face rolled it with nothing other than ilv 50~55 equipment.
After the changes, the more you try to hurry the more chances there are you'll screw something up. Although with some people they just never seem to be aware of their surroundings and NEVER LEARNED how to dodge things, so if you aren't speeding you have to warn them when there's something behind them.

My first run was just about pre-nerf, was in full AF, the GC i55 weapon and a level 44-ish GC shield.
We got through most of the dungeon ok, apart from a few wipes to Stalkers... but they made me kite everything in the last boss room.
    And I mean everything.

I was running around trying to kite the Boss, the Stalkers and all the Tonberries in huge big circles (shield-lobbing each of the stalkers) whilst the ranged DPS just targetted the boss and the poor melee DPS was more or less chasing us all like a headless chicken. It took 4 attempts, but we killed it eventually.

Much Much Much Much Much easier these days, purely because I know all the Tonberry Stalker spawns and the Paths they take.
The last boss is a joke as long as you just tank him in the middle, save your cooldowns (even Stoneskin) for Grudge and have at least one ranged DPS (a White Mage counts)

My very first time there was as a BM. I was with a full FC group who had done it before, so it was smooth and flawless.

The first time I tanked WP, now that's a completely different story... Again, I had a full FC group, this time with DDs that I had never played before and both had relic +1 weapons and pretty overleveled gear compared to my fresh 50 paladin. Safe to say, the aggro was everywhere but on me. I didn't know the way tonberries move, how many groups it's safe to pull etc., so we wiped quite many times on trash. Bosses went easy enough, even managed to keep aggro. But the moment a tonberry stalker appeared behind me, I knew it was game over and try to pull another tissue from the tissue box. :''')

I was pretty upset after that run, but after doing WP 10+ times on my scholar, I started to see how other tanks do it and felt confident enough to go again on my paladin with my WM buddy. Went much better and after that even better and now it's pretty simple, as long as I don't fool around with tab target. n_n
