For a long time I didn't touch WP and went straight to AK SR pre Nerf. However when I finally did do WP just to see it (pre tome additions) it wasn't so bad, but I went with people that had run the dungeon so many times for relic building items that they coached me through it.
Fresh 50, no dl items, level 55 sword, ran with ls peeps who'd been at it for months already, boy I never spammed flash so much in my life, or provoke lol. It was a pretty wild run, but they showed me everything I needed to know, so outside of time, want that bad.
Very next day, ran together again and breezed through it like a champ. Still had no new gear at the time. They going to show me the SR later, so I'm looking forward to that for when I do pugs.

Healed it as a SCH, no wipes no dead ppl - so, fine :P
Thirtyish minutes is not so bad for a regular run. A hint for the final boss, save your GCD defence buffs for when he does "everybody's grudge". The move is telegraphed by the announcement "X Enemies Appear". When you see that, put up your buff. You can use Rampart or Foresight for 2 or 3 stacks and Sentinel or Hallowed ground if the stacks get bigger or at the end when a party will sometimes ignore the adds completely to push the final zerg.

Did this early on in the game shortly after hitting 50. I went with an FC group and we didn't really have any problems on the first two bosses, but managing the last boss was challenging. Back then we didn't have the DPS to deal with the little Tonberries fast enough so we found a video on Youtube of someone kiting the king while DPS just focuses on him. After the Stalkers came out we did a BLM LB2 on all the Tonberries while PLD hit Hallowed Ground. The rest was history after that.

My first run I got to do with all FC players and it was quite enjoyable...I could not figure out where the end boss buff stacks were visable...DERP...I play Bard and was in charge of the adds and it was very stressful that first run but I think we wiped on the end boss like two or three times and then we got it no problem. Now the fun new thing is seeing the interesting new ways that people find to do the dungeons and handle the bosses. I still love that first boss of WP...he is so lame and easy it is just too funny...I guess he is a nice "Warm Up" for the fingers.

My first run with Ak/Wp as tank was somehow nerve wrecking, but people from my LS made it easier for me. My regular run for wp is about 25-30 mins, semi speed run is about 20-25. full speed run record was 15.
My first run as a tank was just as boring as the runs for the other jobs I leveled. However, I didn't realize how bad the "out of range" bug was or how things could still hit me while being out of my range until I started tanking. Got lots of compliments from random puggers primarily because I usually heal and have learned what not to do while tanking. Beyond the "out of range" frustrations, the first run (or first 10 on tank) were relatively boring as WP is.

My first run was a group in GC/Darklight weapons and AF gear. We worked to win and it was very satisfying. I believe we had to kill four waves off adds on pudding and a pro blm was careful with my 4300 hp on Tonberry.
That place was more fun pre-nerf.
I made so much gil off that place. Most groups, then, didn't care about chests, especially the chest in the square so I'd wait til everyone left after TK and go tag.
My power supply fried minutes before the servers came back on after myth change, so it was a few weeks before I got to see this but the stuff I was selling for 10k-45k was 29-100 gil when I got back. lolundercutters
