    Steps to take to craft

I've been working on my crafting classes for a while and I've reached 50 on Weaver, Goldsmith and Carpinter, 30 on all others and 37 on Culinarian for Steady II.

As it stands right now I can buy enough Potash to craft myself my Vanya that I've been looking forward for a long time to craft. I've looked around the forums and I've seen some people talking about Macros, but, I don't want to to waste my materials if I can't HQ, I have just enough Control and Craftsmanship to meet the requirements without food and I have full HQ ilvl50 gear and accessories.

Should I wait? is there more skills that I should get from another class before attempting? what food should I use while crafting?

I'm 50x8 in craft and I can tell you that at no point can you create a two star or even one star rotation from just the action bars to push out HQ all the time.

It's all in the Materia and having a suit with enough CP to complete a rotation and enough control and craftsmanship to move progress and quality in a certain number of steps. All the praise of Byregot's Blessing, while it's a good skill, it's a cheap advanced touch really if you are using it with a base suit. Ingenuity II doesn't turn a synth in to a cake walk. It all comes back to getting your suit HQ and Materia capped.

HQ from NQ up to felt? No problem. HQ from NQ up to Platinum Ingots? No problem. Once the stars arrive it's a whole other matter. I need three Careful Synthesis II just to complete a Darksteel Nugget or a twin thread or a Gold. I just don't have the craftsmanship to get the job done without Materia.

Are you able to 100% HQ 1-star things on Weaver?

I can do it with the 80 ones, but, not the 40 ones.

So the materia is the most important part? I should overmeld until I max out my stats then? I have 349 Crft and 318 Control, so just enough to craft the stuff,

Yes you can HQ any Vanya craft, but you will need to make HQ mats to craft the final products. (E.g. the Twinthreads, Nuggets, Ingot's etc)

Buy some Decent HQ +CP Food.

Don't waste HQ Twinthreads making the Vanya Silk, just craft it NQ, but use HQ mats when making the Lining's etc and try to HQ those.

You'll be using the "Hasty Method". (Can Google it)

You'll be trying to use Hasty Touch under Steady Hand II as much as possible before ending with something like Ingenuity - Great Strides - Byregot's (Make sure Steady Hand is still up at this point) - CSII - CSII - CSII (ofc change order as needed depending on Condition etc)

Use Tricks of the Trade on every "Good" condition before the ending, this is so you use and Master Mend II and other dura saving skills in order to use Hasty more.

I won't claim it to be 100%, but if done the way mentioned it should be higher than 99%.

I've talked other crafter's though this in game, during their first 2 star craft, I told them all that if they follow my instructions and fail to HQ, I'll replace the Tombstone mats myself... so far I've never had to anyway!

You're on same server as me. I can make it for you for free. Just bring me the mats.
If you still want to make your own, I suggest you get BSM/Alchemy to 50.
Alternative method is "Hasty Hand Method" like above post.

With your current set of cross skill, you can go over-meld and use the rotation posted by Aphraell.
But with all the money you would spend in over-meld to get the stats needed, I think you can get BSM and Alchemy to 50 easy.
    Then checkout this
Another discussion of the same rotation is found here

I think Ksenia may have misunderstood the original post; You said you "don't want to waste materials," and I think she read it as "materias."

Yes, materia are important, and her advice seems good.

I think the original post was accurate, that using macros is likely to waste materials. "excellent" condition can be too valuable to waste, and blowing CP on an expensive touch during "poor" condition can be wasteful - macros can't account for that, nor can it count for those great opportunities to use tricks of the trade.
