Damn, I hated SMN. But I only leveled Arcanist for Scholar anyway..

On Topic. SMN is a fun job and if you think you can manage to cast and move and not clip DOTS you'll be just fine. Remember..... Always Aetherflow before the fight.

Whatever happened to just play a job you enjoy and who cares bout everyone else. Yes play your class right, or to the best of your ability... It's game all... Just have fun.

Clipping DoTs doesn't even matter in the long run, if you remember to clip only at sub 1 second.

Depending on your luck with server tick times it may be more dps to clip slightly than to lose it for a fraction of a second.

Depending on the fight too it is not a dps loss to delay ruin and just wait to make sure you don't clip at all.

But in seriousness, we apply DoTs and then do some frontloaded damage until we need to apply DoTs again. We interact with the pet every minute for Contagion, or if we need to AoE, otherwise we don't interact with the pet at all.

We also have Cooldowns that effect our pets DPS, that we should be using on CD.
