are you guys mainly dotters/ aoe spells kinda similar to locks in WoW?

I never played Warlocks in WoW, but Summoner is a pet/DoT focused damage dealer, yes.
Well first I press 3, then I press 4, then comes 2. Now here I might press 5, or I might press ctrl+6 and then 6 depending on what we're doing. And it just gets complicated from there.
We're frequently compared to an "affliction warlock".
Basically we stack the mobs with DoT spells, and use the special abilities of our pets to help out.

But in seriousness, we apply DoTs and then do some frontloaded damage until we need to apply DoTs again. We interact with the pet every minute for Contagion, or if we need to AoE, otherwise we don't interact with the pet at all.
Sit in Rev's Toll, notice all the groups asking for BLM, reroll to BLM.
That is basically how SMN playstyle goes.
Nothing sad about it. Just because a bunch of idiots want BLM , doesn't mean they have a reason for it. Most of them think you need Sleep and Flare to clear WP quickly, and they're just wrong. I routinely out-DPS BLM in WP, even when pulling 3-4 sets at a time. Where BLM excels in groups of 5+ targets, you make up for and them some on single target boss fights.
I'm glad people re-roll from SMN to BLM because of stupid stuff like that. It filters some of the people out of the class that give it a bad name in the first place.
I mean these are the the same people shouting for Relic+1 Bards...
Damn, I hated SMN. But I only leveled Arcanist for Scholar anyway..
