I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
It takes literally about five times as long for me to buy an item as it did in FFXI, and that's assuming I buy the correct one.
Let's say I just leveled up my LNC to 17 and need to look at a new armor tier. Where do I begin? Does LNC prefer leather stuff? What kind of hats? LNC can wear multiple kinds, and in order to even compare these I have to jump back and forth between divisions. I can't sort by level, so even within a single page I have to go back and forth between several pages of data to compare two pieces. Oh, but now I see, this one's out of stock, guess I just wasted my time there! I look the other one up, 15 results, most of them in Tinkerer's Ward. I mark them starred, and then head to Tinkerer's Ward. Hopefully I didn't mix up retainer names, otherwise I'd end up buying someone else's hat as opposed to the cheaper one I wanted. 5 minutes later, I've bought a single item.
Now then, I finally have a hat. Now I get to go back to the counter and look up data for what, 9 other slots? /logoff
That is why I said if they make changes, allow purchases from the counter for a fee. It's a convenience thing for people.
I feel like the market wards aren't horrible... but they certainly aren't user friendly. Like Cutriss said, finding anything is a chore at the best of times. Having a market hut/counter that you can search for items (similar to an auction house) by type/class/level/etc would cut down the unruly hit and miss wandering around the wards looking for stuff.

I prefer AH because I find the Market ward a real killer for immersion (100's of peeps stood silently in a very narrow room), I also prefer being able to buy. I wish they'd go back to price history and now show current prices to help prevent insane undercutting.
I wish people would stop posting loaded, one-sided player polls. Of course nobody is going to choose the second option the way it is worded. Makes it worthless.
Its not One Sided.
One Option contains all the features of an Auction House that are not reserved specifically or do not require an actual auction house. The other option are the two options that are actually auctions and require one. I wanted to prove a point that what most people are asking for is not actually an auction house. But what most people are resisting is an actual auction house.
For Auction house: We want Convenience and Time Saving easy to use marketing system.
Against Auction house: We do not want Blind or Timed Bidding.
The two sides of one Argument are not arguing against each other but think they are because of the terminology used.

I happen to agree with you about most people arguing semantics, however this poll is definitely one-sided. Word it better and you might get a more accurate depiction of where people actually stand instead of just lining people up in a way that best supports your argument. Its not One Sided.

I wish a real auction house with auctions, no "buy now" feature. We have retainers for "buy now"
