The economy in XI was downright atrocious because items didn't bind when used. Until you were at cap, leveling a profession was a loss the entire way, and a big one at that. The things you made sold for a fraction of what the materials cost. Absolutely everything you could make while leveling was sold at a loss, because there were years upon years worth of equipment flooding the market that thousands of players had made. Equipment that never left the economy unless you sold it to a vendor for even less. So what was left to make a profit on? Consumables. What happens when everyone makes consumables? No profit.

In XIV however, you can make a profit on almost anything while actively leveling, because all of the gear you make eventually leaves the system. Somebody buys it, it binds to them, and the only way they get rid of it is via vendor or materia. Either way it's gone for good, which creates a demand for more of those items, meaning prices stay in the profitable range only until there isn't anyone left to buy them.

Ok, first i have to say: WO_OW!

Now that i got that out of my system, area you seriously complaining about something that is and has been in every MMO i have played? there is always some gear that is untradable, there is gear that is bind on pick up, bind on equip, here it happens to be on use. I have all 2* HQ Crafted gear, now i don't know if you know much about that gear, but its not cheap nor easy to make, and can only be fully bound in coil. that being said, i could farm myths til i got all my af+1 pieces and sell that. completely rendering the tome mats needed for that useless...

NOW, as for your bitch on the loss of gil by converting, I am going to assume that you are living at home with mommy and daddy for the simple fact that you would know that anything in the real world you buy, be it a house car what ever. any big investment decreases in value. aside from housing(depending on the market) you never get everything you paid for it out when you resell it.

Boy i hope this is a troll thread and you don't actually believe you have a valid complaint OP

How I see the new abilities:
Asylum - Get ready for my holy spam because that's the only healing you gonna get.
Aero III - I guess I should put some dots up before holy spamming.
Assize - I need more MP to spam holy even more, also stop getting hit in the face.
Tetragrammaton - I guess I should heal that tank now.
Stone III - There's less than 3 mobs left alive. - Ragns Meuhie

Incorrect, the economy was perfectly fine until the RMT started basically handing out gil.

Until you were at cap, leveling a profession was a loss the entire way, and a big one at that.
Half true. If you went purely HQ? Yeah, you'll expect to be spending a lot of gil especially if the +1(or 2) gives you addition stats like the Alumine Set for example. Otherwise basic gear was very easy to come by and easy to buy for quite awhile until SE shifted focus purely to end-game players.

Kind of like ARR now thanks to undercutters. Let's not forget that ARR hands out all the gear you need through your career from Quests since gear in ARR has no worthwhile stats so everything is just basic gear crafted or not.

you don't seem to understand what he's saying at all.
He was talking about leveling crafting, To level up any crafting skill in FFXI you basically just had to flush millions upon millions of gil right down the toilet and even the super high end stuff like scorpion harness or the alumine set was a pretty decent loss in value from just the raw materials unless you HQ which you didn't really have too much control over.
and this was even before RMT was a thing that existed

and dunno what your doing but in FFXIV every craft I've leveled has turned a profit through all level ranges and pretty easily too. Even stuff that seems borderline useless like lavendar oil sells for some reason

but generally the options for gear is to make it relatively difficult to get like ragnarok online or ffxi and resellable or more bountiful than water and bind on use like pretty much every game after WoW

Not really sure what he spent 300k on but nothing but nothing but * and ** gear sells for more than 10k and that stuff is all endgame quality
