Only option is to stay out of Line of Sight, just as you would do in a non-FATE situation. I was fishing in The Black Shroud, were the Marlboros are, in stealth mode a DoW started a fight and I got caught in the Bad Breath though I was in stealth mode, just bad luck. My point is there is an inherent risk in gathering that is designed into the game and you have to deal with it whatever way you can.
