2.1 is naughty.
Agreed! Can't wait for 2.1, and further news of what lies beyond! 2.2 I think is my biggest excitement though because Vanity Slots!Am I the only one that is actually excited that the new patch is just a couple of weeks away?
All I see is doom and gloom on here, finding every possible negative in every little thing. We've got new dungeons, treasure hunts, the aesthetician, housing and so much more! That's something to be happy about.
I think people should try and keep an open mind and look forward to all the new ways of having fun they could have, rather than worrying about all the potential new problems that could arise.
It's just a game after all, try and enjoy it!
I am looking forward to 2.1 as well. The aesthetician should be an interesting addition, and I do hope they have some interesting options since I think it is time that Katra gets a haircut. FC Housing should be a nice addition as well, as it will be fun to have an official spot for the FC to hang out at, and a spot out of the city to craft in. It also appears that they are making beastmen camps more than mere decorations, which is nice. I'm looking forward to the Crystal Tower as well. The only thing that I can think of that I am not looking forward to in the upcoming patch is the new pvp mini-game.
All in all, I feel like it is a solid first patch that should keep me busy for a while. But I've learned years ago it is best to keep my expectations, good and bad, in check when it comes to patches in MMOs or else the real thing will never live up to the hyped up expectations. With that said, it is always fun to see others enthusiastic about the release though and for me that is strongly preferred to the negative pre-patch fears that Tegan mentioned in the original post.

i was hoping it would be out about now but what can you do :|
Most complaints come from people who have already exhausted the current end-game content. Which is understandable, as none of the PvE additions will challenge them as much as Coil has. Hardcore end-game stuff is all that matters to some people, but there IS a lot of content coming. PvP should be fun, Treasure Hunts, Extreme mode Primals + Ultima, FC housing, more varied ways of levelling up and earning tomes, a gear bridge to assist with tackling Coil (though I suppose most hardcore aren't too fond of that idea). I can understand how a lot of that may be underwhelming to end-gamers, but there's a lot of fun to be had there...
Also once this patch has been and gone, there - no more "it should've been in 2.0", and from the teases we've had so far, 2.2 and 2.3 should be very satisfying for players of all content.
I'm getting all kinds of excited about 2.1. that's all :P
Cant wait to beat the extreme modes, but this wont increase the chance of extending the subscription, CT got as often mentioned killed cause you can only run as 8 people and taking 16 randoms and the housing, doesnt affect me much :P
Also I am not that entertained about the upcoming PvP, I mean limit breaking in an arena, oh well.
Looking forward to everything but the pvp, never cared for it and hate it's become a requirement for mmo games these days.
I think most of the hate is coming from 2 things. One being the Crystal Tower not being able to have a preset group, I can support that one. And two, 2.1 was suppose to be in the release so these people wanting new harder content aren't getting it until another big patch. I've always looked at 2.1 as being the catch up patch and 2.2 would be when the game starts taking it's steps forward, still want 2.1 though!
Ifrit will probably be the easiest simply because there already was an Ifrit Extreme in 1.0. It looks like the same basic layout as the 1.0 extreme so there will be strategies for him out there pretty quick.
