I have to agree too.
I have to agree too.
Yes, incredible. Even The Witcher 1 (from a, at the time small independent studio) was fully voice-acted in English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Polish and... Rumanian?
Even worse considering that (as I understand it) the Japanese players are complaining that they don't have Japanese voiceovers. So basically, what little voice work exists in the game is English only.
True. We have, like, 3 different voice English actors and japanese subtitles.Even worse considering that (as I understand it) the Japanese players are complaining that they don't have Japanese voiceovers. So basically, what little voice work exists in the game is English only.
And the usual ridiculous, embarassing English title song they just *have to* include in every RPG since 1995.
Sounds cool when you are a kid and don't understand it, but less so once you've grown.
This is a real problem. The worst part is that I remember working at EB Games pre-FFXIV launch and SE had advertisements for our store specifically stating voice acted cutscenes as one of the primary selling points. Talk about false advertising...
i think the problem with doing all voice activated is that with every expansion they will have too and they probably don't want to tip us off that the game is turning to shit when they deside to not voice over one of the expansions lol. but seriously i dunno why this game didn't get more vo's ...i was so gitty for the starting cutsceens, hearing some of the npc's voices was great and then bam that is all. sucks but i doubt they will add vo's though.
I would 100% agree with the OP that anything relating to the main story quests should be voiced. It helps build character and world and not having it all voiced just seems lazy(although given the trouble development of the game I can see why it's not there)
I would say when they continue to main plot quests or introduce the first expansion that those story lines are 100% voiced. More and more MMO's these days are being voiced and while I don't think it's needed to do what the new Stars Wars MMO is doing(In fact I think that's a retarded waste of money when alot of it could be used to make the game much better in other ways) It should be common sense to have the main story line quests be voiced. Also get better voice talent as well. The main characters seemed pretty bleh while I can hear the voice of Crispin Freeman(awesome voice actor) playing a random Foot pad in the field.
It would also be nice to have voice in the bigger side quests. But that's not as important as the main storyline stuff.
Don't make me angry or I shall cut down all the trees and laugh as you can't breath!!!
I would have to agree that, at the very least, all the cutscenes should have been voiced. It was a real disappointment after the starting scene to only have text from then on.
