Load Times

This may have been asked and answered but does anyone else have long load times on the PC version even with a solid state drive? When it was in my PS3 the load times there were pretty much instant but in my PC they are slow so I thought I ask and see if I can find some help here.

Not sure which update but recent Windows updates seem to be increasing XIV's load time lol. Try rolling back a bit and see if that helps. (Granted you're running windows and not through wine or something.)

Yes lol, I have a very fast SSD and sometimes it takes longer than usual, sometimes it's also really fast (but it has taken longer than on a 6 years old HDD for that matter too??).

Also have to remember that before allowing you to see the next screen, the internal SE servers need to do a bunch of connections and swap you between them and blah blah, so even if your computer has fully loaded the game, you still won't see the next screen until the server is ready to host for you (somehow to say, not entirely sure how it works with SE but it still works somehow around this).

Have you tried playing again on PS3? I'm assuming you upgraded from PS3 to PC for playability issues (we all know and it has officially been stated that the PS3 version is gimped), so you might not have noticed the reduced speed on servers on your PS3 since there's no real reason for you to go back to it (pure assumptions there =P).

I did notice however that load times are extremely slow at times.... Which wasn't as bad before maybe? -shrug- either way they can be too slow.

I ended up going back to my PS3. I think my computer is just not up to par even with a solid state drive. Although it did get a good score on the benchmark without it. Anyway, believe it or not the load times on PS3 with a solid state drive are almost none extent and no I'm not trolling when it comes to that. I think I'll try the PS4 version before I invest in a new gaming PC. Thanks guys for your help ^^

Load times on PC? Where?

Sarcasm aside, I'm running an 8-core 4ghz AMD, a Radeon 7990 with Windows and XIV installed on a quality SSD. The longest load time ever has been about 3 seconds.

I load in like 4 seconds and I have an SSD my GF takes like 10 seconds to load with a 5400rpm hdd

The only long load times I see are the initial load, if I'm in a very crowded zone. (Mor Dhona).
Those aside, most are near nonexistant.
