You sense oak logs at this location

You chop down 6 iron acorns.

I spent about 90 minutes looking for oak logs. I found one, damaged one, but I got about five dozen iron acorns [no wonder the game is populated with squirrels], and enough swan feathers to make Bjork envious.

I know my character is often mentally challenged, but sometimes I even think he can decide whether to pick up an iron acorn or a swan feather and not mistake it for an oak log.

It's amazing to think of how many swans inhabit the oak trees, but getting oak logs from an oak tree is nearly impossible.

This 90 minutes made me feel like I was wasting my time, and while I somewhat expect someone to go [if anyone even looks at this thread] "you're not entitled to receiving an oak log", it's a TREE. Getting a log should not be this stupid.

Oak is freaking horrible. I am lucky if I get 1-2 oak log gathers per node. Most of the time 0-1. This is at humble, are there better oak trees than these because they suck!

I always farm Oak at humblehearth and Treespeak(especialy at treespeak where every tree seems to be oak)

being higher rank helps get more(more swings/perception)
having more perfectption helps get more per swing

using the depth meter to be at the correct spot helps get more


Tragic, you also didnt say where you usualy try to farm them, thats always important, cant really advice you on why your going wrong if i dont know where you are trying to get them

I find OAK frickin everywhere at R30+ areas. Thats basically all i find. More or Less~

Trust me, you will find them soon enough.

Just ensure you are decked out in Rank appropriate gear, with a Rank appropriate tool - doing it with something high above your level (even by 1 Rank) can gimp your chances of success. Also, once you can go to Treespeak, Oak is basically everywhere. I just emptied all my lumber onto my retainer a couple days ago and had three full stacks of Oak Logs, around five stacks of branches, and lots of Mahogany to boot.

Oak has always been the most common and easiest for me.

Like the other posters have put Humbleharth is the best place (imo) to get oak. Also, check your gear and see if you have alot of perception gear on. That will help focus on the spot you want, along with some of the abilities we btns have.
