Garuda Weapons: DoW need not apply

Personally, too many people are too ready to call "RNG". Wasn't a turn fixed lately because of the so called Rng?

Who knows what else is broken in all honesty. I agree something isn't right with half of these drops.

Maybe it is broken, but that couldn't be accurately determined without a huge number of test cases by different groups (gotta test if composition if a factor!) of people with enough samples obtained and given that, people being people, the majority of those who will help submit samples will probably be the ones who have had bad luck, the bias will make that useless to. :P

Anecdotally, I did over 30 Ifrit runs for a Bow and got nothing, I got a Garuda bow on my first kill; doesn't mean Ifrit is broken and Garuda isn't, I just got (un)lucky.

Why should it be based on luck?

The whole point of an RPG is progression. What you guys are describing isn't progression; it's a lottery, and it really isn't acceptable for MMORPGs anymore. You should be rewarded through effort, not some random number (which is anything but).

When I was farming garuda for her weapon on my SCH it seemed to always be DoW drops. Took me quite a few runs to get my book.

You are rewarded for your effort...if you are willing to put in the time. Random is random, chances are the loot gods will smile on you eventually though. A little bit of patience goes a long way. Has worked in every other MMO that I've played to date and I'm guessing many others that I haven't.

If you do 30 runs, you should be given a reward worth 30 runs. If you do 1 run, you should be given a reward worth 1 run. Currently, that isn't the case.

And yeah, I know a lot of MMORPGs do it that way. I'm just saying it's wrong and outdated. SE is familiar with pushing the envelope, so I think it's time they came up with a new way of doing things that's actually fair and fun.

I get what you're saying, but they do give you a reward every time you run it. If you run it 30 times, you get a total of 120 mythology tomes and 300 philosophy tomes...which you can choose to use to buy other gear for progression. They also don't let other people from outside your class need on the weapon you desire. Seems pretty fair to me though I admit they could increase the amount of tomes.
