    Help on video card choice

    System specs:
    AMD FX 8350 8core 4ghz
    12gb ram
    Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit
    NVidia GeForce GTX 550 TI
    256GB SSD hard drive
    50gb up / 7gb down Cable Internet

Currently I have to run on custom settings lower than even low settings to run optimal in dungeons. Outside dungeons I run 60-90 fps. In dungeons I run 30-60 fps. And in Titan hard I run 20-30 fps.

I'm looking to upgrade my video card to raise the fps as well as my goal is to run max settings with steady fps. Suggestions?

Currently I have been looking at Radeon 7970 , Radeon R9 270x, and GeForce GTX 670. but not sure which of those if any would be a good choice.

I'm unsure what you mean by this. Are you saying 7970 is the best choice, 670 is 2nd choice, and 270x is the worst of the three?

In terms of performance, it's 7970 > 670 > 270x, like Veerne said. All of them will run the game comfortably at 1080p. 270X is not really comparable to the 7970; that would be the 280X. Which you get will really depend on the prices you get. What are you willing to pay and what resolution are you looking at?

I'd go with the 660 Ti or the 670 (which is the one I have), getting 10k+ points in the benchmark with the maximum settings and the prices of those cards have gone down considerably but if you have the money to burn get a 780 or a Titan :P

One of the weird things I've seen with the diffrence between nVidia and ATI cards for Square Enix MMOs (11 and 14 have both seen this happen now) is that nVidia seems to be the more stable of the two. I get hops from time to time on my 7970 which frustrates me because it blows most of the nVidia cards out of the water.

It just seems that S-E tends to do their coding and their graphical utilities with nVidia specs in mind instead.

Hope this helps you decide on where you wanna go. By no means am I scoffing at my 7970, but if i had a choice, I'd probably get a 700 dollar nVidia card over my ATI card when I had gotten it.

I find this helps a lot if you're looking for Graphics card with good overall performance for a good price.

Just letting you know I have a 760 in the exact same rig. The fx-8350 is great but I believe it's a bottleneck in towns. I get 60 GPS everywhere but when I'm in town I get 25-30fps. Was curious if anyone else with a fx-8350 has a stable 60 fps in towns.

There is no good reason to go with Nvidia 660 when the 760 10-30% better for the same price.
I have nvidia 770 and Love it.

I am not an AMD card fan. But I've had issues from back in ATI days and I've never forgiven.
