i was wondering if /Help will come back in ffxiv? to help people how are dying in a fight
An explanation, please?
/help command goes something like this
you claim Mob
MOB hits to hard you panic
/help
people other than you can hit the mob , kill it, no reward but you live
well they are changing the claiming system. maybe the new claiming system will allow this
A long time ago, in a giant tree far far away, a dragon popped every 20 or so hours... And /help was a BTD by some of the more brilliant linkshells. And by brilliant I mean grey crayon in a neon box.
I'll pass, unless they disable it for big things, because one dim lightbulb can cause a zone wipe. That's one command we don't need when there's really no penalty for death anyway.
I think the /help thing was a -great- mechanism for FFXI and def should be implemented in FFXIV.
The simple reason it is great is that it creates community. If you're screwed you call for help, someone saves you, and it breaks the ice.
Really helps new players makes friends fast. Especially if the starting zones are made a bit more tough.
Mew!
Exactly. Besides, battle mechanics are different in FFXIV. You can go into passive mode (disengage), turn and run, and the monster won't chase you too long before giving up and returning to its roaming path. You live. Yay!
Once upon a time, in FFXI, there was a time and place for the command. Combat was slower and it was harder to outrun monsters since in the old old days they didn't give up until the zone line. And with the harsh death penalty... well, I remember many a time running all the way to Selbina crying for help. In the early days, you often got that help. As time went on, not so much.
With the upcoming revisions to the claiming system, there may not even be a need for it. We'll see what the future brings.

The dunes made you learn how to dodge agro. And if you got unlucky, you prayed there was some high level with nothing to do guarding the entrance to selbina while running your arse off. Such fond memories, even if they were of me running for dear life.Exactly. Besides, battle mechanics are different in FFXIV.
