Its just like that. I have to change my pswd every 1~3 days. I just assume that its for my own safety...after all its like 30sec to change pswd. But its worth saying...depending of the sites you use it does might be someone trying to hack your account that is triggering it. Are you using antivirus up to date and yadda yadda?

But be sure that being logged into forum has nothing to do with the pswd restriction. no matter if you're logged in or out, it might happen.

You can access the forum from anywhere without getting your account locked, I think. But the game is a different matter.

Sometimes my IP changes even though my ISP assigns one statically... continue to monitor the situation, and if this happens every single time you restart your computer then we'll go from there. Otherwise don't worry about it, OR get a security token to bypass the problem entirely.

Buy a security token and add it to your account and then remove it.
$10US will fix this problem permanently!

If you read the TOS it explains accounts secured by tokens will never incur this warning.

I have 2 accounts one for my PS3 and one for my PC.. I swap between them, one of my accounts from FFXI days has never got this warning while my other one gets it every few days.

Very true. Security tokens will remove this login restriction issue.

However, i believe that if you already got the login blocked you will need to change pswd first.

I am having the same problem but with an unfortunate twist. Once i reset my password successfully and make sure it type it in correctly it says incorrect password. Then if i put my old password in i get the same original message. For a couple of days i have tried to fix this with no success. Any ideas because im about to jsut stop playing if this doesnt get fixed. SE wasnt any help either. Never got a reply from my email ticket to them and the chat person i talked to suggested i reset my password. The phone help i had was no help at all either and said I dont know what else to do. SE has the worst support center i have come to find out

    Strange.

Make sure to delete your internet browser cache. It might be storing your old password information somehow... but that's a shot in the dark. Do it manually from internet explorer, or use Ccleaner.

I have this happen quite often. It would seem that loging in from different IP address's can and will trigger this. I play at home (obviously) & at a friend's often. Now I read somewhere that after you reset and play from the same IP a few times no more problem. Continuing problem is it would seem that it really only remembers 1 IP as being legit at a time. Not even if you keep loging in from the same 2 many times in a day, week, or month. AND NO I don't want another stupid security token. That thing gave me more headaches then the mog satchel was worth in XI. I use quite strong passwords and have never had a online game hax'ed. I guess if this game was actually popular it maybe a security feature worth having, but either way I really think this needs some tweaking.
