You've never been to Japan have you? The text isn't that different in the Japanese version. They have a far more openly, barely hidden, sexual sadism society than we do. Not to say we're not as bad, but it's buried a little deeper here. Not by much though.

Unless I see a cutscene specifically showing showing something truly immoral I can't believe he was a truly bad guy.

There is far more evidence to show he was a man trying to do his way for the greater good. Like Durian from the Wtachmen, killing millions to save billions.
Do you have no idea how he took over Ala Mihga? Or how he continued to run it after they took it over? Gauis is evil. It's stated time and again the evil things he has done. There isn't a cutscene for his actions cause he's a barely there big bad when it comes to cutscenes. We see more of Nero than we do Gaius.

well if you look at the Gunarm guy dont care for his name that works with Gauis, he was a person from a country gauis conquered. The guy talks of how at first seemed evil but his Country had known peace after it was taken over. AND the fact that he was a high up on Gauis legion, and when he was kill Gauis was pissed normally countries taken over the people become slaves and poverty stricken (wutai in ff7, some cities in FF6 and 4). So hes not that evil cause real evil wouldnt give a crap about underlings dying.

Indoctrination can help to quell the masses. Oh, that's something they did! I don't recall the gunarm guy killing the underling... I must have skipped that CS or saw it late one night while playing. Either way, countries absorbed by the Garlean Empire are indoctrinated to ensure pacification and compliance. That alone is an evil act. Either way, you are still skipping over what happened in Ala Mhiga after they invaded that country.

Edit: I'm assuming this is the guy we're talking about: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/sp/...htynsasarvina/

And the men where send to another countries as new soldiers, so there would not be enough men for a big resistance movement.
Once eaten by the empire, always part of the empire.

And it was peacefull in Eorzea, before Garlemald began to conquer the world.
I think even the beast tribes only started with summoning the primals after Ala Migho got conquerred.

And there is still this CS which speak against Gaius: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGUa2qBOAE0
How can he shoot on our companion?

it's Sas Junius ( the white one ) that killed an underling.

Yes it's bad to invade country and endoctrinate but by doing this they can bring peace in the world, because with no countries there is no war.

It's a really immoral way to bring peace but it can work, except that the empire will be in a civil war at the death of the emperor because there is no heir, so the legatus will surely fight each others.
