So the number of buff cd's is the case? Not the dps outcome at the end?
Sorry just have to ask, not trolling.

To OP; Drg and Mnk is both top notch dps classes, find the playstyle u like of those two and make ur choise. Atm mnk is a bit Ahead of drg in pure dps, from what i know. Cant go wrong either way between those two

Mine is like 360, high is up to 402 or so. Crit is 150% damage which puts my crits only breaking 600 usually.
Under BfB though, it's over 700 for sure.

Sorry if this convo is off-topic.
Ok sorry about that idk what I was drinking but I was testing on the dummies I was only able to get over 700+ with BFB

Ok so average Snap Punch is around 378 with GL3 only no other buffs and I just played with the dummy for 45mins. The highest crit I could get was 697 with all my buffs and no food also no party and I have 459 STR. I didn't get a party and try to test but I got 4 more STR last night but the highest SP I've done is 722 IDK how much 4 STR will add.

Of course it has to do with the final DMG output, but there in lies the issue, its pretty much because they have too many ways to buff their dmg. While they are showing to have a quite linear curve now, before when everyone was still AK/Primal weapons and AK/DL/Relic weapons very early into the progression, they could not be touched in damage. Now that everyone is getting i90 gear they are getting crept up on very quickly. This change might be reverted in the future.

Monk is slightly better dps single target overall and have some utility.

However DRG will be getting a dps boost soon which should put us on par with MNK along with improved jumps and who knows what else. This added to the fact we have superb AoE, nearly limitless TP and can quickly switch from target to target (effectively losing one of the melee disavantages) we'd be a better class overall, especially in PVP.

DRG won't surpass MNK in single-target DPS. That would be a balance issue simply due to the playstyles of both jobs (risk/reward vs consistent/reliable). Obviously the largest contributor is player skill to any instance of performance, but in terms of DPS ceiling MNK has and should continue to have an edge over DRG. Provided we seem to be getting a buff to the GL effect (either damage or skill speed) I foresee that gap between MNK and DRG being entirely intact.

Also, never bring PvP into the discussion. We know literally nothing about any job's PvP skills, and therefore any comments made about job balance in PvP are asinine.

    Perfect Monk > Perfect DRG

DRG is more consistent than Monks by far. If Monks lose GL stacks, their dps ramps down, us DRGs just have to maintain our rotation throughout the entire fight.

If by some chance Monks lose BfB, DRG will become even closer or may (probably not) even out to the DPS of Monks.

There are usually a lot of unskilled monks compared to DRGs just because of how DRGs don't really have to deal with GL stacks. That being said, unless you are a really good monk, DPS between a DRG and Monk won't be a HUGE difference.

DRG also gives 10% damage buff to bards (Disembowel) and we have superior AOE.
