5 years is bullshit.

The crystal tools wasn't even ready at the time, not to mention the huge pproblems SE had while developing it, causing XIII and versus to be delayed for the longest time.

XI's resources and manpower were cut considerably after the second half of 2007. Look there for the real dev time.
