One of the Things Tanaka said made as promise (Which Yoshida said he would atleast make all the past promises come true) was that In Addition to how Chocobo's have been used in the Past Final Fantasy's (Raising, Riding, Hot and Cold, Digging) They would also have new unique uses as well this time.

So please do not act like they haven't told us anything. They have, its just been a long time ago that they did.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Well hey thatd be great, but i'm not going to bother giving anything the chance to get hyped in my mind until i see action, or at least an official confirmation. SE is known for not fully delivering on its promises and a lot can happen with a lead change.

I guess it depends on a few factors.

    What is already there.

What they want from the system.

    Priority.

Im pretty sure mounts are not going to be restricted to something you just ride

The continuing problem is that they keep making these promises of more complex design as an excuse as to why said content isn't already out. You thus defer your judgment of them for a later date.

Unfortunately you forget that you already deferred once, twice, three times, because they then promise you something more significant that will take just a little more time. In the meantime, they slip in 20 pathetic quests, and the NMs that were supposed to take months of planning could effectively have been pumped out in a week. And you forget that as you scurry around collecting the gear from them.

Fast forward 9 months later, when SE has yet to produce a single one of these complex features that were supposedly taking up the majority of the last 9 months' effort.

My guess is that they spent the entire 9 months designing, re-designing, and re-re-designing the same crap that's already been released, and almost none of it on the complex things they bought time with.

We'll see if the battle engine really is the fruit of 9 months of labor, or if it's just a pathetic slap-mash of panic done over the last 8 weeks. Their time's almost up on their payment deadline, and there is no more stalling.

Everyone knows that Zolom has a direct line of communication to SE in the same way that Harold Camping has an exact date on the rapture.

Chocobos are not "basic" and require work, but I do agree it is kind of sad they haven't been implemented yet. Shouldn't there have been development on them even before launch? Is it really that far off? Only assumption I can make is, horror of all horrors, Zolom is right and they want to released a plethora of content involving them or they only covered the basic coding of mounting and riding them.

If I were hoping for the best, I would say they could have been working on them this whole time, but just put the priority on the battle system then focus on implementing them later. As many have pointed out in their letters and interviews.

because there are 2 zones (exaggeration obviously) to go to. Why the hell would you pay for a choco or go through the hassle of getting on an airship when you could teleport using anima (which I honestly think should be abolished, or reduced down to like 10 because it really hinders people exploring or walking, more so than choco and airship.) to get to your destination that much quicker.

That's why. I'd be complaining about lack of zones before I do chocobo's and airships.

If one of the new features for them is Mounted Combat and fights you can only do while on Chocobo then they have to wait for the battle system to be fixed before they implement that feature anyway. We'll see and yes thats mindless speculation. But so far the only game that had active combat mounts that I know of is AoC.

If you play the game everyday, that 100 anima last like 10 days... I hover between 6-10 anima... which is not much if you do things besides Uldah leves.

Transportation is desperately needed. Anima is only enough is you are extremely casual in playtime.

It is a carrot on a stick. They're abusing the populations' gross ignorance on the lenght of time it actually takes to get things done. They know they can pretend to be hard at work for 10 months of time, then at the last 2 months scrap something together and the player base will be none the wiser.

Except you can't *really* dick around for 4 years of time and only produce 6 months of work with it. Lesson learned in September, right?

Well, no, they've essentially wasted another year of everyone's time, and gotten about 2 more months of work out of it.

Honestly everything added to the game since September should have taken a good developer three months to crank out at most. It's all simple coding, easy gear color swaps and mish-mashes, if it's not straight releasing something that was already finished.

Square Enix is trying to pass off The World Ends With You production values in this game, to try to get away with landing subscription fees for little work. Don't let them.

They think themselves the talented geniuses who can make up for not working for the past 6 months by cramming at the end. It's the same Square Enix arrogance that got them into this mess.

They're not as talented as they think they are. They think they can get away with statements like "we knew the battle engine was just a placeholder" because they think they can just magically **** gold whenever they want.

That company goose died in 2000. It had no children.
