have to reinstall windows every patch

after many many attempts trying different things to get the game to run properly
i have to re-install windows every time there's a patch hot-fix or maintenance to get the game to run good.
after a patch or etc.. npcs players mobs load/lag so damn slow. but when install a fresh copy of windows the game runs great everything loads fine can run the game max settings with no issues at all. this is the third time i had to do this. i have no clue what this game does to windows after patches hot fix's etc. but re installing windows just to get the game to run right is getting old.

I have never even heard of this issue man, if your reinstalling windows, your basically formatting your machine. There may be some driver conflict or piece of hardware that is conflicting. Or some software that you are installing after the game that is causing this.

The only way to test this is by not installing any applications other than FFXIV and see that if with just the game installed if it does the same thing. This should narrow it down for you to try to figure out exactly what is causing the conflict.

been there done that. nothing has updated or changed on my pc since last reinstall. then patch/update happen with game and now it runs like crap. reinstalling windows again. it is not drivers its nothing with my pc its a brand new pc every patch/update with this game. the game runs perfect till a patch update or maintenance. ive done everything i could. se even had me call them they have no clue.

everytime theres a patch or hotfix or maintenance the game runs like crap till i reinstall windows then the game runs perfect till another maintenance etc etc.. three times in a row. im so sick of hearing drivers drivers! this has nothing to do with drivers.

past 3 times. install windows. windows updates. install ffxiv. game runs perfect. game maintenance. game runs like crap. install windows. update windows. install ffxiv. game runs perfect. over and over again. no new drivers. no new updates. no new programs.

If you just uninstall the game, and then reinstall it without reinstalling Windows, the game still run poorly?

yeah i tried that. uninstall ffxiv didnt help. after i uninstalled i did a windows search for ffxiv there was still a bunch of stuff listed under ffxiv. so the game left a bunch of stuff still on the pc.
i made sure nothing updated or new programs been installed from last time. i looked for new drivers there was none. the only thing that changed on my pc after install was ingame ui settings and boarded less window ingame.

im down to my wits end. the only and last thing i can try is leave all default game settings and leave ingame ui alone. and wait till next maintenance to see if that works.

all i do is re-install windows. update windows. install ffxiv. thats it.
i use my laptop for other crap. keeping my desktop just for ffxiv

i bet anyone with game issues reinstall windows there game would run perfect till next maintenance /patch.

If this happens to you after "any" maintenance, even those that do not touch any file on your PC, it's a coincidence or a placebo effect. If no file is touched there is no connection between your system and their servers.
If this happens after a files update, then your PC may seriously suffer disk fragmentation.
You could try defragging it after the update and see if that helps.

i tried doing a disk defrag and a disk error check. even spent 80 bucks for a pc shop to check all the hardware in my pc.

got done with fresh windows & game install. everything running great again..
