not saying lvling cant be easy just not this easy come on 3 days to level a class? at least 2months triple xp off items that can be market bought really? that's just to easyReally? Last I checked the leveling curve in wow is pretty damn quick. It also has more players than any other mmorpg. In fact, many modern mmorpgs have a short leveling curve. You know what happens when they don't? Game gets called a korean grinder and people stop playing. You should really see ESO online. It has a very long leveling curve. Guess what? Most people even in the beta are saying "I refuse to continue this beta. I can't stomach leveling any longer." They're saying this by level six. People want end game now. They don't want to spend years leveling up. The number one complaint in Aion when it released was the level grind too btw and it wasn't even as long as EQ or FF11 just long compared to modern mmorpgs.
Lol made a thread about this few hours before you ;o http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...’s-talk-future.
72 hours played to hit max level? You realize that's the same as wow right? It's been that way since BC that you can hit max level in 2-3 days/played. 72 hours played is a pretty decent time to get max level. It means if you play 16 hours a day you can hit it in a week. It means if you play less than that it'll take you longer. To me this is decent enough.
Funny, my experience is that its the Super Hardcore TM of the Bored after monday variety, that will bail. Regardless of what the devs do or don't do, because they'll never ever ever like the game.Casuals will only stay so long before the next big shiny game appears at that point probably 50% will bail, than that leaves the mid to hardcore base
This. Casuals will stay MUCH longer then hardcore players. There's a reason Squeenix is targeting that demographic, because it pays. Hardcore Gamers do not pay the bills enough on their own, but casuals easily can.
