There's no right or wrong way to go about it but it makes your sword glow. That should be enough to sway you

I believe the chest piece does drop in turn 1 though and is considered BIS for PLD's so it depends on those two things.

Unless things have changed Allagan body isn't BiS for PLD. But that all comes down to your ACC needs. Currently it's Valor if you're following one of the numberous BiS sets that have been posted and don't need the extra ACC from Allagan.

Allagan body is not needed for PLD at any point. I use the AF+1 body, and I'm still over the acc cap (even without DL legs), it also helps to have Allagan legs, belt, and gloves.

I'm not quite 50 PLD but I have 1100 Myth stored for it.

Based on my research I'm doing Body > Head > Sword+1 > Shield +1 > Ring

What makes the +1 shield better than the ring? From what I can see, even if upgrading from the DL ring to heroes it's still a better stat boost than holy shield to holy shield+1. Is the defense that good or is it the glow? Lol

If it's the glow, it's a damn good argument for +1

Haven't had any Defense issues so far with DL PLD - Allagan Shield - and some Hero Accessories. ~5800 HP in Party - Turn 4 so far has been the biggest issues with Enmity as PLD. Upgrading to Curtana +1 helped a lot with that as it's the largest factor on Flash and AOE Enmity.
