I would not use a RADEON card, many of the major computer sites have dropped ATI/AMD because of poor warranty and support. And if you go NVIDIA they work best with an Intel chip. I would go with the NVIDIA 760 + I5 4670k if you can afford go for like a samsung evo 250gb ssd + what ever storage is needed

Unless you're ready to spend for a top end AMD board and a top end aftermarket cpu cooler or liquid cooling solution, get the intel, I use AMD personally but FX's pull a lot of power when they're clocked high, enough to fry VRM's on cheaper boards. If you really want to go AMD though, get an 8350 and with what you saved get a corsair h100i and a good mobo, would be a solid rig and other than a few situiations in gaming or anything else really you won't see much of a difference between them and intel.

People like to over exaggerate how bad the AMD's are, you could call it a bandwagon effect.

9590 is basically just an overclocked 8350, and sucks down enough juice to prove it (holy 220W TDP, Batman!). It's not a bad chip, but it's hardly exciting.

7990 is two 7970 on one PCB, meaning it requires Crossfire support to function properly. That will work in ARR, but not in all games. Where it does work, the 7990 will outperform any single-GPU solution (including the 780Ti, the best you can buy), but Crossfire support can be occasionally dodgy -- if it's not supported, you're effectively running one 7970.

those days are long past. ati cards are really good now since amd took over. they're cards actually get higher scores compared to nvidia's similar priced offerings. at least at the low and mid high end which most people are at.

Pretty sure you don't know anything about computers if you're really saying Nvidia works better with Intel. What gpu you pick will work equally well with the cpu of your choice.

mmm i have to agree amd makes good cards now. but seeing as ive always had nvidia ive kept up with it and went with a 780 for a single gpu multi monitor performance, if you're on a budget the amd cards will give more performance to cost ratio imo.

but whatever amd releases nvidia can release something that beats it lol. intel and nvidia i think sit on top, and charge premium for it on top end stuff that amd doesnt have out. //bottom line get nvidia if you fanboy or want to just say i have nvidia, otherwise go with amd//

inb4 Nvidia vs ATI and AMD vs Intel flame war

go for 8GB for gaming, more is only needed if you do video editing or have many applications open at the same time; since I'm a fanboy I'd recomend Nvidia over ATI and AMD over Intel ;-)

Now, you can use this website to make an informed decision, click on the component you want to get and it will tell you the average price and how much value you get for it compared to 10 others depending on what you are looking for like performance over price or viceversa:

One advice i can give you, is get a good monitor with high res

A slow card / less ram can still handle the game pretty well (I am on an old laptop with an old Geforce Mobile card and 4gb ram), but the big problem i have is my screen is too small to do things like the others

Also accesories like an expensive mouse where you can map skill keys on it will also help

i put in my order, and it was over $2,100 so they gave me a free 32 inch 1080p monitor. I am hoping that will be big enough ^^

Now I am frantically waiting for it to arrive!!! they said it will take about 2 weeks to get all the parts together and build it, than they ship it and that will take another week to 2 weeks AAAGHHHH!!!!!!! I can't handle 3 -4 weeks with no FFXIV this past weeks alone has made me loose my mind /cries

    EDIT:

Also if my coil static haasn't kicked me out for not being able to log in I will of lost out on like 1,500 mythology tomes, this is what makes me cry the most.
