    new Computer for FFXIV

So I am almost set on a new computer that i am buying for FFXIV since my last computer just blew up on me ; ; and just wondering on what everyone things about which CPU I should get cause i keep going between the

Intel i7 4770k and the AMD FX 9590. I first thought u know, no brianer AMD as it is a octo core and can clock up to 5.1 Ghz, but after doing a little bit of research (which is kinda hard for me cause im stuck using my moms cell phone since i dont have a computer anymroe and only have very limited access to it) that the quad intel might be a better option. What do you all think?

Just incase you need to know some of the my other specs that I am getting with it i am getting

    16 gigs of RAM
    850 watt psu
    GTX 780

any other input on this would be appreciated if u can find something that will give me same performance for less money, i am going to wait until cyber monday to buy to kind of hope to get a deal.

There is a new NVIDIA GeForce, the 780 Ti. I'm actually waiting until next year to get a new PC and I'm waiting for the release of the 800 series cards, too. But yeah, I do think those are good specs you have so far! This game doesn't seem to push a PC that hard unless you don't have the proper CPU; 1.0 of FFXIV was...a pain in the butt!

AMD making octacore CPUs to battle Intel's quadcore offerings - and still just playing catch-up. As far as that's concerned, go with Intel. Also, 850W might be a bit of an overkill, the 4770K has a TDP of 84W, minimum recommended for the 780 is 600W - on NVIDIA's site anyway, if OC'd or some such, the manufacturer might recommend higher, but for comparison's sake, I've an OC'd 760 (base is 500W) and a Q9550 (95W) - perfectly fine with a 650W PSU here. Again, if you wanna do serious overclocking on your own or have unusually many other components, might be needed, but if you're just gonna run your system as it is, 750W should be enough and you save a couple bucks there too.

    Intel > Amd for cpu
16gb of ram isn't necessary, 8gb is fine.
Nvidia is overpriced the amd r9 290X is better and cheaper.

i7 4770 k is on sale atm for the black friday thing if you're in usa, $289...the gtx 780 would be great if you are playing at 5760x1080 res or something similar, a gtx 760 could run ffxiv fine, even a gtx 670 which is on sale will get you 60 fps..

since you mention a deal then depending on what you want to use it for, i5 processor will be cheaper than a i7, give same performance in game since ffxiv wont utilize HT of the i7. Also as i mentioned a gtx 760 would be plenty to play on max at 1920x1080. If you decide on the cheaper gpu get a 600w psu. Id recommend Corsair (bronze rating at least). If you get a intel cpu, try getting the hyper 212 evo cooler for it, stock cooler sucks btw.

My pc specs as of now, i5 3570k @ 4.3ghz,16gb ddr3 memory //i use ram disks. i need them >_>. yes the ssd isnt fast enough//, 120gb ssd cheap edit: oh and a asrock z77 extreme 4 mobo
    hyper 212evo cooler, corsair HX850w psu for future sli/ gtx 780/ 3x dell U2412M E-Ips monitors(5760x1200)...
60+ fps in dungeons, fps varies depending where im at in town. 40-60 fps whle streaming at 720p, 30-40 fps recording fullsize. //on single display fps was 100+ easy and 60+ recording/streaming even during massive fates or something//

//A note, if you intend to do video editing, recording, streaming and such get the i7 or amd 8 core(i7 ofc).//

Unless you need it for productivity, go with the i5 4670k. The 4770k will offer you nothing additional in gaming. Intel chips tend to be better for single-threaded tasks like gaming, and if you're going with a $500 video card, you'll want a high-performing processor. Also, AMD isn't even releasing a Steamroller-based FX chip next year, so there's nothing to wait for -- Haswell, unimpressive though it may be, will dominate all next year.

Don't even give the 780 a look right now. Go with AMD's R9 290. It delivers better performance for cheaper. Assuming you're getting a quality PSU, you don't need nearly 850W, either. Your rig will run on half that as a minimum -- a 650W is plenty of wiggle room. Most of your rig is also horrible overkill for ARR as well. No game now or in the near future will use 16GB of RAM, and your video card is two tiers past maxing ARR at 1080p.

//EDIT: Note that I said R9 290, not 290X. The 290X isn't a bad choice, but the 290 delivers performance nearly as good for $150 cheaper. For $400, the 290 wipes the floor with comparably-priced cards. All of the 290s are reference cards right now, though, so if you can afford to wait a few, you'll get better cooling solutions on them.
