    Suggestion: Mob enmity list

This is a really useful tool, but there are some changes I'd suggest.

First, it pulses red and sometimes, out of peripheral vision, I think I catch Orange, only to go back to that target and find I still have a great hate lead on it.

My suggestion, stop the animation. It's a distraction.

Red Star - you have more than a 20% hate lead against the target.
Red Oval - You are the target's highest enmity target but within a 20% lead.
Orange Oval - You are not the target's highest enmity target, but are within 10% of it.
Yellow - You are not the target's highest enmity target but are within 25% of it.
Green - DPS Harder, this thing's never going to hit you.

Further, a suggestion that I've seen before: Show raid marks in the enmity list. I'm not huge on marking. I tend to mark <1> each pull, but some tanks like to, and some fights, it's actually useful to mark a <2>, or CC targets, or whatever (not so much currently, but who knows).

I've made a cheap mockup based on a screenshot I had. Behold the power of MS PAINT.

Shield Lob (Can change red text to Tomahawk and it will work perfectly Warriors)
    /macroicon "Shield Lob"
    /ac "Shield Lob" <t>
    /marking attack1 <t>

Better "macro switching", give it a read: http://tinyurl.com/ffxivhotbars

I agree that tanks should be able to have an at-a-glance awareness about "how reliable" their current hold on multiple enemy targets is, without being forced to switch between targets constantly.

support, I switched to healer because it's way to annoying to keep enmity as it is now

I HATE that enmity bar. It would be more useful as an addon to an enemy's name plate. I use hotkeys so I don't have to take my eyes off of what I'm doing and my surroundings. Have the nameplate change color to indicate enmity as many mods for other MMOGs do. Its a common feature because its useful and needed to reduce the negative impact of a horrible UI upon player capability.

Decided to bump this and ask a question...

I find as a Healer in the group I have trouble seeing my aggro build up, mostly as I am checking the PARTY list and as I have the Tank or other friendly targeted most of the time I dont see the enmity bar to see how much aggro I have built up.
I cant look at the mob list either and even when I glance at the thing its not readily apparent what is going on there... least to me.
How do I tell how much aggro I have built up with the enemy mobs ?

You should have an "enemy party list" which has the enemy names and a symbol by it.
    • Flashing red square: you have aggro
    • Flashing orange down arrow: you are 2nd on hate list, and close to pulling aggro
    • Orange down arrow: you are 2nd on hate list, and moderately safe from pulling aggro
    • Yellow up arrow: You have a fair amount of hate, and have risk of competing with those who hold aggro, if pace is not moderated.
    • Green circle: Enemy is aware of you and will pursue if those with more hate are killed.
    • Enemy unlisted: Enemy is not aware that you exist. If the party dies, you will not gain aggro, if you keep distance.

Moving the enemy list next to the party list may also help significantly. Personally I have my party list on the right hand side of things with the enemy list to its left, when I'm watching the party I can easily see my aggro in the enemy list without my eyes being too far from the center of the screen where I have the target bar.

1.0 used to have an option to display the enmity marker under an enemy's name. Hopefully that option returns.
