Just wanted to share a little story of mine that happened some days ago

I was lvl 43, doing the stone vigil dungeons using the DF and I was very unlucky in my groups, some didn't know the fights, some raged quit, etc.. etc.. I have been trying to do this dungeons for 4 days and started to get frustrated UNTIL that one time.

I picked a group from the DF as usual, people seemed very nice and all. We got to the first mini boss and started to get wiped out serveral time. I said to myself "ho no, not again, if our group cannot go pass the first mini-boss, how is the rest going to look" but we retry it again. It was hard and we manage to get to 15% HP. Our WHM died at that moment and our PLD too. Our limit break bar was full. I said to our DRG "Go for LB" He did it, lower the boss HP to 5% but got killed just after that. It was just me and the boss at 5%. I went all-in, triggers all my cooldowns (without a healer, i only had 3-4 shot on the boss before geting killed). Finally I dealt the killing blow with just 10 HP.

The team was really happy, very psyched up and so did I. After that, we cleared the rest of the dungeons very easily, 1 try per boss. I guess it was because after that amazing fight, everyone was very focus and thrilled.

So, what started to be another difficult run turned out to be sooooo nice and fun because of a turn of event.

This is why I like this game, and the community, even though there maybe some downside, it's all worth it when things like that happens.

I didn't know people wipe to that boss. He really is the simplest boss since Satasha. I'm not even trying to be mean.

Three different strategies, all work:

Tank him in the center of the room, facing the stairs, when he runs, everyone run to the wall behind him because he will turn and breathe on the group. After that, he'll turn and breathe on the tank, try not to be near the tank. Tank brings him back to the center.

The second strategy is the same, but when he runs to the wall, leave him there and just don't be near the tank. When he's in one of his positions, he often likes to try to go to the same position. Less running for the group.

Tank tanks him on the stairs. When he runs to the wall, everyone runs to the wall and gets behind him, except the tank who stays on the stairs. Sometimes the tank will take breath damage, sometimes not, but the good part about this strategy is that noone ever ends up on the same side as the tank.

I wiped at Stone Vigil too. Haha. So I understand your frustration. Well when dailies come in, you'll find more people helping with these dungeons. I can't wait. :3 I don't want people running away from the game simply because they couldn't find people to help them and such. So I'm glad they're adding that daily duty finder thing. :3

We were on Turn 1 last week and screwing around for some fun and were wiping. The boss was enraged and he had about 5% hp and killed both the tanks and was running around killing everyone. He killed everybody but the whm who was running in Huge circles and managed to get a swift cast raise off on the dragoon. The dragoon popped up and hit LB2 just as the whm was dieing and he turned around to hit the Dragoon just as LB2 went off and the boss died milliseconds before killing the dragoon. It was the best epic fail win I ever saw lol.

some of my previous runs, we wipe at the last boss, or before, never get to finish the dungeons before that. It all depends on the group. We can get experienced players or not i guess

I love it when there's a hard battle and everyone works together to beat it. Personally I rarely have problems with this dungeon since I explain fights and I am geared. Only time I had problems with this dungeon is when a healer would keep dying on last boss' aerial attacks; I kept my cool gave some tips and we beat it after a few tries.

For a lot of groups these dungeons feel harder than normal because most players are focused on fate grinding without gearing up. It will change in 2.1 when dungeons give more exp and there is an item level requirement to enter.

... I cant even remember who this boss is, i rly think ppl only used to wipe in aurum vale... never tough any other dg would offer more then 2 wipes...
