Hey, all.

I've been playing this game and roaming the forums for only a couple of weeks, and I just have to say:

I love how all of you players from all over the world and different servers gather here to support and help each other, laugh, tell your stories (good or bad), and sometimes even hate on each other like one big, gaming family. The fact that the game is awesome is a bonus.

I know this is all kinda cheesy, but I've always believed if you appreciate something, you should acknowledge it.

Bottom Line: You're all awesome.

Thanks for revitalizing my love for the MMO community. And if you happen to be on Midgardsormr and need help with some content, hit me up. I like helping out whenever I'm able, and I always like new friends.

The community for this game is very good compared to most MMOs, particularly WoW. Indeed, it's very good for many online games with playerbases this large.

That said, the Greater Internet ****wad Theory still applies, it can still be seen in DF, and as the game gets larger more jerks will be abound. Just be prepared for it and you should be okay.

Seriously, you're right, the community at large is very cool and a whole lot better than some whiners make it out to be. One bad experience in the DF should not erase the dozen good ones that came before. You take it as par for the course as one will occasionally encounter idiots everywhere, online and offline. That's just life and you learn to shrug it off. The majority of players are worth the time spent getting to know them.

Sure, I always try to help people out when I'm able to. As a SCH main, I enjoy watching people get beat me up, so I can heal them up and watch them get beat up some more. If I'm just grinding through the levels, I'll always opt for group play in the dungeons. It's good practice for learning your job's abilities and limits, as well as gear. AND fate parties don't usually say anthing aside from "pop" or "rez plz".


There's only 2 reasons I won't help:
1. I'm completely hellbent on completing a dungeon for story progression. (I have needs, too. :P)
2. I simply can't -- as in I don't have the access to a dungeon (yet) or lack the class/job/level your group is missing.

That's too bad. I know every MMO has its elitist jerks with attitudes, but I've seldom run into them. I've been around MMOs long enough and just brush them off when I do. People just forget what it's like to be the new guy after a while, I guess. As you said, to each their own.
