The OST song you linked was actually the Faction NM music. Regardless, it is truly fantasticThanalan's music and Coerthas' music are both some of the best I've heard :P
And I think this is one of the best boss/battle themes in any video game. But you never get to hear it all because it plays during Behest boss battles and those never last more than 30 seconds.

I wouldn't mind some of the devs getting inspiration from this video/series if they haven't already been looking to their past already. Look to where you're from to improve on the future.

hahaha hearing the opening themes for 7 and 8 again gave me goosebumps. Thanks for sharing this!
Gotta remember ff isn't about looking to the past. Its about how they can improve. I like the way the game is now it is fresh and not the same only same old.. level class, level next class rinse and repeat. We had a chance to make our own classes not something really done in mmo. And people beat this like no tomarrow. I vote for new and fresh over tried and tested.![]()
But ya i can't wait to have cookie cutting and everyone playing everything the same and being the same 4 classes/jobs.
Which btw cookie cutting doesn't equal unique.
I rather go for unique characters over classes and have ppl cookie cut.

I want originality and creativity, but if anything I'm saying don't do things other MMOs are doing just because it's what works for them.
...that HAS to be be the raid dungeon boss battle theme. It just has to. That is a true Uematsu boss battle theme...evokes all the feelings you should get when fighting a challenging boss in an FF title.Thanalan's music and Coerthas' music are both some of the best I've heard :P

I really hope Yoshi-P and the team decided to use that track, because it would be sad to see it continue to be so underutilized.
EDIT: It's the faction NM music? In that case, it should be a lock for standard boss battles. In that case, heres hoping the raid dungeon bosses have quick intro cutscenes.

They play this song in some of the bigger cutscenes too, I don't know if it'll be used for a boss theme or not....that HAS to be be the raid dungeon boss battle theme. It just has to. Fixed.
Seriously though, any true FF fan (the ones who enjoyed the series before FFVII was nominated for game of the year in 2003) will tell you that FF has been going downhill since Square merged with Enix (FFX onward). I mean really, no flyable airships!?!? WTF!?!?!?
Note: FFXI was in production before the merger. This is likely the reason it still had a plethora of traditional FF goodies and felt like a real FF game.
Sadly, I think those days are gone. I'd love SE to prove me wrong, but I'm doubtful. If there's any thread on these forums that they need to see, it's this one. Thank you so much for posting this, Eldaena. It really brought me back.
