Scholar Silencing ADS

So we're a fairly casual group just starting on Turn 2, but had some good attempts of it on Sunday, with 2 bards we had no worries of Voltage, the odd miss, but nothing that killed us. However when one of our tanks had to leave, one of our bards went paladin, and our monk is just incompetent at silencing voltage. (I understand there's some stance dancing he hast to do to get there, but I've heard good ones can solo silence this boss).

So things ended poorly with our paladin constantly stuck in animation lock during his turn to silence (we have a warrior and paladin tank) and voltages would start going off, paralyzing people into beams and all hell breaks loose from there. Said paladin, runs an AK later that week and runs into a scholar silencing on command (including party tell macro) So now he has in his head that my scholar healing buddy could and should help silence voltage. I'm under the impression this will end horribly.

So my Questions:
Have any of you scholars successfully used selene to silence voltage?
What sort of witch craft was this scholar using to seemingly macro selene's silence? ( My assumption is either hitting two button or hitting a key macro)
Would you even consider trying it? Seeing as our tanks seem to melt as soon as firestorm starts...

just pull over silence under pet commands on your bar, thats one way. the problem is you have to keep selene at steady too I think or she will use it herself.

You would have to have her set to Obey; If you set her to Steady, she will go into Guard as soon as you command her to do something.

Don't do that.

Far easier to stun with a PLD and a BRD if the monk sucks.

Still no one knows the witchcraft that scholar may of used, I was hoping for a ninja fix for scholar macros, I'm aware of pulling the commands to the bar and setting to obey, since that's how I handle Garuda. Our scholar has been using Eos on Turn 1 and 2 so far for the pure healing increases as our tanks are taking crazy damage compared to what we're used to.

Witchcraft, indeed, as there is no way to macro pet abilities within the game as it currently stands. That is to change with patch 2.1.

It is possible to do the silence on a scholar, BUT!
- Selene's silence is on a 40sec cooldown and not 30 sec so you can't join the rotation properly at best be a backup.
- Scholar has a much more important task than focusing on silence which is healing the tank/party
(switching targets back n forth in time and forcing the fairy to do it in time if she was already casting embrace can cause problems too)

This is mostly the problem. You're still inexperienced with turn 2 and ADS does high voltage on a non-regular frequency. Monk's silence is not reliable for this as he needs to have opo-opo form active to silence, which only lasts 10 seconds. This can also mean lower dps from him and he might not be able to handle it when he has to dodge laser and pacman (baltast). Scholar silence is on a 40s CD while BRD and PLD are on 30s CD so you might want to use it as a back-up but not as a rotation. It will end horribly indeed. The PLD is just not doing his share of the fight. The SCH in this story probably has a Selene Silent Dusk (?) on a button and hit a macro to announce when she's silencing in party chat instead of having them both in a macro as there is currently no way to use pet's ability in a macro. Firestorm is really easy to dodge. Just have to run between the cross-line aoe to the closest exit. ADS also have HUGE hitbox so you have plenty of time to get right back on him. The only case I can see PLD not being able to silent is if ADS use firestorm into a repelling cannon into a high voltage but I doubt it ever does that.

I tried to use Selene during Chimera cause our idiot paladins weren't silencing but it totally didn't work and I ended up not doing what I should really be doing - healing.
Silencing is not our job, its the job of bards & paladins (and monks I think?) so don't worry about doing that. At least not until they can get pet macros working so you can macro "obey" after each pet command automatically.
