This means that all 2 star recipes will require the same ammount of tomestones (probably with v2.1).
That's great, although some items still require too much compared to darklight stuff, but it's a real improvement.

    Wrong aaaaand wrong.

A darksteel ingot requires 9 coke, not 7 coke.
Every piece of heavy darksteel gear requires 1 darksteel ingot. This means 1 for head/body, 1 for hands, 1 for legs/feet => 3 darksteel ingots => 3375 tomestones of philosophy for a whole set of heavy darklight gear, which requires, as I already said, the lowest ammount of tomestones for a complete set.

I think they should at least consider adjusting some of the baffling recipes like all the Vanya breeches/trousers.

27 items at 125 stones each is idiotic considering DL pants cost 800-ish stones and have similar stats. No one is going to make them or purchase them unless they have money to burn. The mage pants in particular aren't even visible in most gear so you wouldn't even have the vanity argument.

I have a customer who grinder all these mats and ask me to make her the full set. She just prefer to dye them and make her looks good. We play game for fun.

That's great, because having fun is what games are made for. But is it fun to run the same 2-3 dungeons all the time or fight the same primals 20 times in a row?

I don't want to dumb crafting down. If anything, I'd like crafting to become more relevant for the game. The extreme material requirements of some 2-star items are nothing but a timesink for players who like to farm their own stuff instead of buying from the AH.

It doesn't add any positive aspect to gameplay and that's why I'd like SE to streamline Tomestone material requirements for 2-star items.
For example, said Vanya Breeches of Healing:
reduce items to 2 Hippogryph Leather, 1 Vanya Silk, 3 Twinthread (9 Tomestone items)
instead of 1 Hard Hippogryph Leather, 2 Vanya Silk, 1 Twinthread (27 Tomestone items)

I have all HQ 2star healing gear except for pants only because they aren't visible xD

How I see the new abilities:
Asylum - Get ready for my holy spam because that's the only healing you gonna get.
Aero III - I guess I should put some dots up before holy spamming.
Assize - I need more MP to spam holy even more, also stop getting hit in the face.
Tetragrammaton - I guess I should heal that tank now.
Stone III - There's less than 3 mobs left alive. - Ragns Meuhie

The whole material pricing is just bizarre. Bard Griffonskin needs around twice as much animal fat as Monk griffonskin, and like 4 times as much as a tank set requires coke.

This does not make sense - why is it up to x4 cheaper for some classes than others?

I would fully oppose this idea.

Any reduction in mats needed is going to lower the value of the item, and so if this were done, at the point it was done, there'd be people with things up for sale that were made with the old requirements losing out on gil by people selling based on your proposed idea of lowering mats required. No thanks.

Even something as silly as the vanya silk needed for wind-up aldgoat/qiqirn, as much as I almost typed out "...though they should remove those", they really shouldn't, same reasons. 500k for a minion may be retarded, but it'd be a real kick in the nuts for SE to then make it 50k value, for those currently selling one made with vanya silk.

SE took ~50mil gil from me with the start of v2.0, the materials which were hard to obtain before are thrown at you now, equipment which was hard to get and expensive can be bought from AH for a few 100gil,...
I don't complain about that, it happened and there will always be changes in an MMO, and that's a good thing as long as it improves the gaming experience.

What will you do once SE lowers the cost of DL equipment? Why don't you complain about the raised mythology cap in v2.1?
Are you worried about gil? The only things that cost gil are repairs and buff food/potions.

But ask yourself, would you spend 700k-1000k gil for a HQ piece of gear without any materia, or would you do ~34 dungeon runs to get the materials for it, or would you do ~9 dungeon runs and get gear with similar stats?

I just know one thing for sure. High item prices are a nice thing for gilsellers, and nobody likes them.

So some players loose some money in the short term, in the long term I think it would help the overall end game crafting market.

You could probably sell 3 cheaper i70 HQ items as fast as one but with a better mark-up if end prices were more affordable to the majority of players. On my server at least the percentage mark-up on HQ i70 is already non-existent if your *buying* the base mats on most items. I'd rather base material tomb cost = darklight gear costs so the market for people wanting crafted gear over darklight would increase. At least then I could make gil from charging for crafting the items without having to worry about price crashes.

Lower tomb cost on i70 increasing supply would also increase demand for materia, particularly tier III and IV, with potential knock on increase in demand of i55 craft gear for spiritbonding.
