Some things that really bug me in this game

They made the out-of-game config for FFXI because FFXI was a PS2 to PC port. There's no reason why it should have existed for FFXIV as well, aside from Tanaka once again not being up to date with development practices.

I think they haven't figured out the same problem of porting it from PS3 base to PC, they haven't figured out how to integrate an in game config to a PC game that will go to the PS system. Shame.


edit: This must be why they're 4-5 years behind in the game market. The amount of money they put into games is less than the US because they make less money off of games. Not saying US makes better games, few US companies even make RPGs i can enjoy [bethesda, bioware but I'm mad at them for MEII and DAII)]

people from ffxi, they used that text command to invite people while fighting mobs. Since you can't hit invite while fighting a mob.

food in ffxi didn't tell you stats really you had to check for yourself.

A pain in the arse, yes, but I get the realism argument. So...

Here's a better question: Why does my currently equipped gear take up inventory space? If I'm wearing a hat on my head, how is it also in my bag? Being in two places at once breaks up the realism.

Gods be good, this drives me nuts. Makes no sense at all. Sometimes I think the LS system in this game is completely broken.

To add, why is there no /sea (all) ?

I was hoping instead of another text command to remember, we'd get a properly functioning search/social interface like most other MMOs have. A search function seems to be there in the party interface, but like most things, appears to be broken.

/pcmd invite? Seriously? It couldn't just be /invite? Why is this game so convoluted?

Another thing I noticed when playing last night, when an enemy(or ally) gets a buff or debuff under their name, why can't I tell what it is unless I know what the icon means? I should be able to mouse over the icon and see what the buff/debuff really is, instead of having to guess.

2. Why can't I see where in the world people on my friend list or linkshell are at any given time? Because asking the person I want to hang out with where they are is so difficult.

3. Why do I have to un-equip my gear, then seek repairs on them, then re-equip once repaired? Oh man, all this un-equipping and re-equipping is such a pain, but at least I have something to do now while I wait for my buddy to come and do the repairs on my gear.

4. Why can't I change any graphics/sounds settings from within the game? Because I've stumbled across a place that looks really nice, and all of a sudden I want to change my Graphical Settings to High and my Resolution to 1080p. But at least I can change the volume settings through my In Game UI.

5. Why are food effects so vague? My character is just so hungry but I don't know what the food does. What if I accidentially poison it....so many uncertanties

6. Why is it when crafting, I am using fire shards and a harnessed ice element gets unstable? Becase the shards are made up of each harnessed element. But the most dominant element in the crystal/shard makes it that type.
