Need when ever you actually need something, and if you want it for an alt class its generally polite to ask if anyone minds if you greed on it. Please don't be one of those people who hits need on absolutely everything they can just to sell it, or when they have better gear (unless you want it for vanity, but then you should ask if anyone really *needs* it first).

I usually pass on everything, except weapons, pre-Brayflox because I tend to fate grind til 30, and the GC gear is good enough for me for that duration. The only reason I'm in the lower dungeons is to help people out.

    Brayflox and on:
    - NEED on stuff I can immediately use,
    - GREED on stuff I plan to use for an alt class sooner than later like THM/ARC (cross class purposes)
    - PASS on stuff that I won't be using for a long time (any melee gear)

Exceptions: I pass on loot that a FC mate's been trying to get for a long time, even if it's usable by me.

Of course, everyone has their own rules. These are simply mine. I don't think there's anything wrong with GREEDing on everything; I just opt for this sort of personal courtesy.

    1. The number of Lv.50 classes/jobs you have says nothing about your skill.
    2. FATEs are responsible for the majority of Lv.50 "derps".
    3. Don't blame a healer if you died in red zones; that was all on you.
    4. As a healer, healing is your top priority; DPSing comes second.
    5. As a tank, your healer can only keep you alive for so long; avoid red zones, too.
    6. As a DPS, you're partially responsible for hate management, too.
    7. Don't belittle newbs for their lack of skill or knowledge; you were one of them once.

Great thread as i wondered as well. Up until know of all the dungeons i have done i have only received 1 sword. Perhaps the items class specific should only go of the player for that class? Seems other players are always getting tank gear even though i am the tank. I know if it is not for my class i pass or if i ever tank horribly as then i feel i am not deservant of any of it

I believe you can still trade the darklight weapons. Loot from WP is how I have been funding my DoL leveling (trade loot for seals and trade those for manuals). So far I have been able to trade every item that dropped there.

I need role on items if it's a direct upgrade to what I currently have.
    I greed on everything else.
I pass if somebody in the group states they would like it for another class.

I find that I'm usually the only person greeding items in WP/AK, and it amazes me. Every run I'm leaving with a good 500+ seals worth of equipment that I can throw at the GC officer.

It's not too often that I come across people that have the "need ALL the things!" mindset, but they're out there and it's annoying. I fully expect that it'll be very common once vanity gear comes out however, especially in Brayflox.

The problem would be where to stack all those gears. I plan to develop all classes, so I would like to greed on all loot. But one retainer I have is already full, so is my inventory and I have 50K seals already. Which I can't really spend because.. guess what? They would fill my inventory even more. And the GC gear isn't convertible (why? just why?). The Lightning stuff didn't help either. SE should make a special cabinet for weak gear and weapons.

    df = greed everything

premade = people will tell you if they want something

coil = give that shit to people who really need it, strengthening your team benefits you anyway

What do you have that is taking up so much room? There's probably a LOT of items that you can do away with tbh. I myself have almost every AK item (for when I level more classes), as well as keep many items in stock for making/selling items. Even then, my retainers are only probably 75% full, with my inventory only holding essentials such as food, potions etc.

As for GC items, there's always something to spend them on, and with a bit of spring cleaning you'll have plenty of room to hold them. You could always stock up on The Keepers Hymn for a rainy day, giving you a way to rid yourself of TONS of seals without wasting potential new seals, and by taking minimal inventory space.

I find that I pass on a lot of items simply because I already have gear on that's the same or better. And yah that means I dink around working on story content instead of the dungeons.

Ugh... if so then might be bugged for me somehow, wouldn't let me trade in the other day...
