    in fact, SE already implemented that kind of monster.
    it's Sea Hare in Cassiopeia Hollow. normaly they are non-aggro. when you get close to them, they enters active mode and start to cast Mucous Discharge skill, but if you leave them be, they won't chase you and stop aggresive actions.

    when i'm reading the thread, i see, that you guys suggesting to port almost all monsters from FFXI. which is good, because personaly as a former member of end-game LS i miss HNMs. especially Tiamat and all the big Wyrms
    Cerbarus and Khimaira were my favourite HNMs too

    Tonberries
    Mandragoras
    Malboros (there was one in the opening video, anyway)
    Ochus
    Coeurls (besides the NM one)
    Sahagin
    Behemoths
    Iron Giants
    Ogres
    Gigas's
    Magic Pots
    Mu
    Hedgehog Pie
    Lamia
    Antlion
    Golem-like enemies (the ones in U'Ghamoro are a good start)
    Mimics that can possibly hide in treasure chests
    more "elemental" enemies, like FF12's Entites or Crystalbugs, etc.
    giant Adamantoises, similar or bigger in scale to the Great Buffalo
    Gilgamesh!
    Giant Cactuar!

    mechanical enemies, like FF7's/FF13's Street Sweeper/Dreadnaught/Juggernaut or some sort of crudely made Beastmen siege weapon, perhaps even something like FF7's "Weapon" monsters

    monsters that can fly quickly across the map, like dragons, wyverns, Zu's, airships, etc., and can take advantage of players bound to a specific route (such as a dragon that can harass players trying to cross a long bridge)

    more undead/demon-like enemies, like Lich's, Wraiths, Ghost Train, Demon Wall, etc.

    monsters that are more appropriate to their environments (a yeti in a snow area, Bombs near a volcano, spiders/ants in a giant hive, etc.)

    interactive and/or friendly monsters that can potentially help you in various ways, such as FF9's Ragtime Mouse, FF11's fairies(?) that cast healing magic on you, etc.

    more abstract enemies or unconventional enemies, such as dormant statues that come to life, enchanted/magicked swords that float around and attack you, sentry guns that block off an entrance that must be destroyed before proceeding through a dungeon, etc.

    a monster "food chain" or some sort of "rivalry" system (perhaps between different Beastmen tribes?) where certain monsters will sometimes fight or aggro each other

    Since we've got materia now, i'd like to be able to accept some sort of NM boss hunt quest from the Goblin to kill a Materia Eater. While it would be nice if it was the same model style used in the various games that featured the monster, a new model could work just as well. Ecstatic that Chimeras are finally here too.

    Also reiterating the need for Mandragoras and other "mascot" monsters being implemented. We've got goblin, cactuar, bomb, and moogles already, with dodos seemingly becoming a new mascot class monster...but we still need tonberry.

    Oh and when do we get to fight these:

    May not be related to this forum post.. but if ever possible i would love to see Shiva- boss in game wich is the hottest boss i ever known .. love her :P
    They had to choose the worst boss from FF. Ifrit .. what happened to Bahamut , Anima etc

    furthermore.. there were some awesome mobs in FF-10 especialy the higher levels near the end of the game.
    they definitly should have a look at those mobs
    Tonberries
    Marlboros
    (king) Behemoths (ff10)
    Iron Giants / constructs / robots-like FF10 had
    Magic Pots
    Mimics << good for traps /chests in dungeons
    Adamantoises
    Gilgamesh! << was a good one mentioned above.. same music please if you add it as a boss
    Dragons
    There also some great bosses and mobs in FF 12

    I just read this incredibly old, necro'd topic and I was quite shocked that the Four Fiends were not listed ANYWHERE. Lich got a mention, but that's it.

    As far as bosses, I would really like a return to the Four Fiends. It's been so long, people have forgotten their fearful awesomeness.
