    So keep that in mind, don't suggest something obviously impossible like King Koopa or Metal Gear or Kinectimals or something dumb like that. It'll just fill up the thread with needless garbage and make it harder for the dev team to find the good suggestions (and you all want this game to get better faster, right?)


    My list in no particular order:

    1. Behemoth
    2. Mindflayer (those squid head things from FF Tactics)
    3. TONBERRY, or course (and don't use the stupid huge forehead design from FF11)
    4. Demon-like and dark monsters (why is mordhona full of PIGS??)
    5. Coeurl
    6. MIMIC in treasure chests
    7. Mandragora
    8. Orcs
    9. Sahagin (why aren't they in? The Limsa NPCs talk about them)
    10. Adamantoise
    11. Manticore
    12. More dragon types like Wyrms and Tiamats
    13. More mechanical monsters
    14. Hecteyes
    15. Bandersnatch
    16. etc.

    In addition to more types of monsters, there needs to be more variety in strategy as well.


    Some monsters should require a slightly different strategy to efficiently kill than others by taking advantage of weaknesses and behavior, etc.

    Skilled players should be able to adapt and the monster design should try to challenge players and get them to think and use cooperation amongst their teammates.

    Additionally, the visual variety of each monster family can be improved upon. A good example of variety is the Diremite family. The Dwarf Diremites look like those scorpion things, but the high level Banemites are purple with a huuuuuuge stinger.

    I want to see more visual variety in other mobs too.


    The pigs all look the same, the gnats all look the same, the goats all look the same. The Cockatrices look just like Dodos, except for a few color palette swaps. It contributes to the blandness that a lot of the players are complaining about.

    I know you guys have that dynamic polygon system or whatever it was that you guys showed how the engine was capable of great variety using the same models. Well, USE it. Add changes to the mobs within each family. Make the level 40 goats I'm fighting in Thanalan look different than the level 20 goats I fought in La Noscea. Make the imps in one region at least looks a little different from the ones another region, etc etc.


    Put in a "Monster Scan" and a Bestiary "Pokedex"-like system to give the OCD players something else to do.


    There needs to be more content in this game, and stuff to collect. This would be an easy way to use existing content and multiply its usefulness.

    At the basic level each monster portion of the bestiary has 3 levels of completion:

    Your party sees a monster:
    You get the initial monster page listing level, and location

    Your party defeats a monster:
    Your monster page now displays HP, MP, and monster skills

    Someone in your party uses "Monster Scan"
    Your monster page is updated with weaknesses, strengths, and a small description

    I'm sure it can be improved, but at the core, this would be a good system to implement.

    Additionally, other minigames can be derived from monsters like TRIPLE TRIAD.("Monster Card" skill, yes please)

    Is this serious about "joke suggestions"? I would take offense on this since i suggested enviromental trap monsters a few days ago

    Anyway...what i suggested was:

    -flea-type monsters that stay untargetable at those big bushes and then stick at target when they aggro rendering him immobile until the mob is killed by someone else or unless the player struggle enough to get free (like those resident evil parasites)

    -Raflesia-type monsters that stay open at ground until someone steps on it, then grabbing them by legs until killed or until the player struggle enough to get free.

    -Worm-type mobs that stay underground until the player step on them, then jumping from ground and biting the player's ass and rendering him immobile until someone kill it or the player struggle enough to get free.

    Also suggested goobbues and toads to "swallow" players, randomly removing a certain players from fight until its killed or spit him up.

    I saw no joke suggestions here (i never send joke suggestions...and if i do any joke during suggestions i do say it)...also, isn't my fault if FFXI worms had phallic-looking and were often used in sexual connotation jokes. Hell...they even put red head at CoP+ higher level worms! Would be strange if no one made jokes with them! >_<:::

    Anyway...about the monsters you suggested, coeurl and sahagin are already ingame. Many data mining sites already have the models' screenshots of them. And behemoth might not exist in this game...at least not the big doggy one...behemoth in FFXIV is supposed to be one of the gareans' magitek machines' name...not sure which one is tho since i only saw the magitek juggernaut until now.

    I know. My suggestions were extrictly FF-related...and 100% serious...that's i would be upset if they are asking no joke suggestions...because i sent these to them last week so it would coincide with triairy's post.

    Sahagins are ingame already...i won't post here SS from data mining, but you can often see them at community sites' forum.

    Sahagins are very similar to FFXI ones, just being a bit more musculous and probably bigger too...pretty much the very same body revamp done to mamool jas.

    Coeurls are awesome...coolest ones in ages! Here they are like half cheetah half drake, having part of the body furry and part covered by dark scales. Also, there are yellow, more furry coeurls and white, more scaly ones so i'd assume they're supposed to have the yellow as younger and the white as older coeurls.

    Mandragoras, tonberries, behemoths, dhamels, maybe think of making FFXI beastmen types as mobs in XIV (they don't have to be beastmen but I'd love to see Yags, Quadavs and Orcs reimagined a tiny bit and in updated graphics. ) Magiktek creations from garlean empire (for a new suggestion even though Garlean is FFII based we can think outside of the box with this one)
