So pugilist: Monk (dps) Ninja (tank)
Lancer: DRG (dps ) something...
Gladiator: PLD (tank) RDM (support)
Marauder: WAR (tank) DKN (dps)
The subclasses needed will change. for the second job...
Anyone care to contribute for the rest?
Side comment: Any game without a 2h sword is just not complete... especialy in the FF universe, where 2h swords are so protagonist...
Considering Dark Knights in previous incarnations of Final Fantasy has wielded different weapons depending on the game entry (Usually a Great Sword, Scythe, or Great Axe), Maurader will probably be the base job for DRK. They will probably have a job specific ability that is the exact opposite of Warrior's Definace, increasing attack power at the cost of health or defense. They may also get abilities that lower enmity (since marauder generates a lot of enmity), and, since Marauder has bloodbath, Storm's Path and Mercy Stroke, change these to take health from the DRK and inflict it as damage on the target.
The most likely next CLASS with either be the musketeer that Yoshi has actually talked about conceptually, or a class that will grow into a thief (Called pickpocket or something similar). Of course they can also add jobs without adding classes, though this brings up other questions about how people are going to learn to play the new jobs.

Also, the idea of having a
Soldier class (2h swords) with: Drk (soldier + thmt) and Samurai (tank) (soldier + pugilist)
Would be great...

Ninja shouldnt be a tank. OP could be right.
DPS based axe class stemming for MRD would be called Berzerker obviously. The job does exist ya know.
No need to be a heavy armor dps.rather an all out dps job.our producers r crazy with ff 7 so it wouldnt surprise me if we see soldier class.anw se u have my money gimme buster sword now![]()

Missing out on 1 healing type role but that's what I'd like
The only thing about this list I would change is the placement of berzerker and samurai. Ive never seen that class use anything but an axe, and if Square makes Samurai use spears there would be an unproar. Monk could easily split into blackbelt as an evade tank with a few added skills.
