    Help! Laptop underutilizes processing power when running the game

    Hello. My problem is that I can't seem to get my new Sony Vaio laptop to use more power to run Realm Reborn and this makes it so that I have to play the game with 10-20 fps on low settings with 1920x1080 resolution when I can easily run other games with 60 fps.

    I tried the Realm Reborn benchmark and it gave me a score of 2972 (fairly high) with standard laptop presets and 1920x1080 resolution. But unfortunately this is not the case when I launch the actual game.

    Task manager states that when I run Realm Reborn it only uses around 11% of my CPU (with 80%+ free) and 680MB of my 8Gb memory.

    How can I get my laptop to utilize more resources to run the game? Currently the game is close to unplayable to me.

    My Vaio specs are:

    8Gb 1333 MHz DDR3L-SDRAM
    AMD Radeon HD 7650M 2Gb
    Intel Core i7 -3632QM 2.2GHz
    Windows 8.1

    Ugh. I will never understand why AMD puts their GPU's into Intel laptops. It's so counter productive to the balancing of the machine.

    You don't have any kind of power saving features on right? Everything is set to high performance? Intel has a nasty habit of throttling the ever loving hell out of itself if it's not on full power performance.

    Also make sure that you are using the 7650M as your main card (Don't run the hybrid feature crap. It never works right) all the time. There may be a setting in your BIOS or a modification program that came on the computer to do this.

    If you have performance pushed to the highest with your GPU running as the main card and it's still not working, lock your Pstate or overvolt your CPU. Force it to operate at 100% all the time. You should see large improvements by over volting your CPU Vid and NB Vid. Just be careful that your don't go overboard (you'll see artifact and probably a core dump driver crash). Also watch for heat issues as you are forcing your computer to run full tilt all the time (GPUz is a pretty awesome program to monitor the stats on your board).

    I always wondered this, i can understand if its with an amd cpu but with a intel, it makes no sense
