Not to justify it in any way, but SE customer service has been not-so-great since FFXI. It hasn't changed in over 10 years, so I just don't know why people are surprised anymore. Yeah, it'd be great to get in game issues resolves quickly, but sadly that just isn't this company.
At one point I had to completely restart XI because their customer service took months to get back to me about restoring my previous account. You really only have two choices at that point: deal with it and keep subscribing or stop playing and putting your money towards the product. I'd love for their CS to magically get better, but if the past is any indication it just isn't going to happen.
For the most part I'm happy with FFXIV, therefore I'll keep supporting the game despite some flaws with the company.
