I heard that the pets will heal fully when placed, however if not they lag a lot and wont cast every GCD.

Well, they heal more efficient, because apparently they'll start casting sooner and more often.
Ofc there are other ways to heal with them, like healing manually by buttonsmashing :>
They appear to react more quickly if you place them. Plus, the pets do not heal while you are moving (because they are trying to follow you), but if you place them on the ground, even if you are moving they will still be healing away happily.
Yeah, just as when you move, it cancels a cast, it will do the same for your fairy. Placing her will have her cast embrace at a much greater rate since she can keep recasting without distraction, but she'll also blow her other spells at weird times. She also has MUCH higher defense than you, so you really don't need to micromanage her health to the extreme that you do your regular team mates as you learn the class.
Though, remember to call her back! She won't come back to you after you finish the battle!
You can solve this by doing the following:
Set Eos to Steady.
Upon the first pull, set Eos to Obey.
Either Place her at that point, or use Heel if you want her to follow you.
This prevents Eos from using Fey Covenant and Fey Illumination unless you manually tell her to. She also will not revert to auto-blowing them if you DO order her to use those two CDs. It is true, however, that Obey does not keep her from using Whispering Dawn (which she will do as soon as any damage happens, regardless of how many people are actually taking damage).
Well, I was making this comparison to me not moving either. Obviously if I am moving and she is trying to catch up, it will be harder, but I was comparing the 2 cases
1) me standing still, my pet on follow
2) my pet on "place"
So I was comparing these 2 scenarios, and seems that 2) heals more than 1) because of bad pet UI.
What I usually do is set the pet on steady and place her to close to the tank but outside of aoes. She'll do embrace automatically when anyone gets below about 70% but you can use a skill, hit steady again immediately and she will only use 1 skill. I've only found Obey to be useful on Summoners instead of Scholars.
Its just situational for scholars. e.G. T4 you really don´t want to use her CD´s during p1 spiders becourse p2 clockworks burst quite hard as they spawn and eos can almost heal that up with every cd drawn. On the jug you want to obey again becourse the tank will be benath 70% every jugs hit anyway but you don´t need cd´s there....What I usually do is set the pet on steady and place her to close to the tank but outside of aoes. Those fights where you don´t need those cd´s on demand are most propably the fights where seline would have been the better choice.
