Running faster or slower tha others / Speed buff

    Hello,
i'm a fat big roguearin paladin tank.

I have a question about my running speed.
Do i run slower than other races or other jobs? Or everyone runs exactly the same speed.

Is there any way i can run faster (during battle) with some vial/pot consumable maybe?

I find hard with my lag to avoid aoe sometimes and i guess a buff in running/moving faster will help.

    Regards,
    Simos.

All character models walk and run at the same pace. As a tank, you're only choice to move away from something "faster" is to use sprint (thus draining all your TP). I honestly have no idea if there is a potion or other consumable that can help out. I stopped leveling alchemy at level 29, though, and haven't browed the market board for potions in some time.

Sorry hear about your lag. I'd suggest to keep moving a little side to side (even if it upsets any melee in your group) to give you a slight "jump" on moving out of the red AoE cone or circle.

The issues about not seemingly being to run out of AoEs fast enough is generally a server side problem. They only make 3? checks a second for your characters position which is rather slow compared to most other games and then after that check it relays the information back to the player so you could end up being almost a full second 'behind' from the time you see the AoE on your screen and from the time you move out of it.

    Getting slightly nerdy here but....

As a Roag your running speed is actually slower than the smaller races however your displacement will be the same. What I mean is that you will cover the same distance in the same time as a lala. But because our legs are shorter we have more ground to cover so we run faster. It's mostly an animation thing. The rate at which you move out of AoE is the same regardless of class. It just looks like your running faster with the little guy because you have more ground to cover. It's the only way they could do it to keep things balanced.

I know the movement speeds are consistent between all the races and classes...but sometimes things weird out a little.

Example, both me and the one PAL I run with are both Highlanders (opposite genders though), and during WP speed-runs there's a lot of just moving around from place to place picking up mobs. I always try to follow behind him (since I'm the heal in those and don't want to grab aggro accidentally) but sometimes I wind up in front of him...even when he's moving in a straight line and I'm zig-zagging slightly. Also, either we're both sprinting in this case, or both moving normally; I'm not counting the times I'm sprinting and he's not.

    Its...weird.

I know that because my laptop is quite old and I average about 15 FPS my load times are terrible and people will actually end up passing me quite often even if I started out ahead of them (really noticeable when running from F.A.T.E. to F.A.T.E.).

That's a little different lol, since its, well, Fates, and the lag that comes long with them (I can't even load everyone when Fate grinding on the PS3)

People with slower connections/Graphics cards will walk slower than other people even when autorunning. It's weird you can see them like they are almost running in place sometimes. On a side note, Monks can get increased movement speed from their Greased lightning IIRC.
