It's unfortunate that we cannot get past pointing fingers and further trashing a person's reputation with alleged sabotage publicly by a "pitchfork mob" rather than approaching this issue face to face with us and the person in game expressing your concerns allowing for a further discussion to clear things up. Obviously, I am taking the time in addressing this because inherently I do care for both sides. I do not appreciate this thread being derailed with such drama as this, so please feel free to approach us in game if you truly do have a sincere concern about this issue. There's enough of that in these forums^^;
Now onto your criteria.. I can potentially see where you are coming from, but i can also see where you could have mistaken his positioning to be threatening to the tank. If you could provide exact times when and where he was positioned near/on the front side of titan during which bomb sequences.. that would be great. A melee with good positional awareness can actually have little to almost no dps downtime on titan if one is familiar with the mechanics of the fight.. straigus is definitely one of those melee. Chances are the only times he was anywhere near the tank was after a weight/punch was executed most likely to dodge and also keep uptime on his dps. Personally being familiar with MNK with myself in this encounter.. I can tell you that the area in front of titan is actually quite safe to utilize to dodge if you know when he does his frontal cleaves to time it. Also in terms of straigus being potentially close to the tank with landslides.. I assure you it was most likely to "bait" the landslide away from the majority of the party, and I can see why some people who are unfamiliar with this practice may see it as attempt at encroaching on the tanks area.
Now in terms of ignoring gaols... chances are he DoT'd it up real good and went back on titan to, again, keep maximum uptime on the main boss. You said that you've seen previous gaols melt.. well.. then he probably adjusted his dps so that he would assist with the gaols with dots and immediately went back to titan.. but that means the rest of the dps in that party dropped the ball as well if there was such a dynamic difference between gaols. it was a judgement call made on the fly.. also it coudlve have been where the positon of the gaol was in the arena. Was it far back in the boonies where gaols really shouldn't be in the first place? Also, who was gaol'd inside? Was it an immediate priority like a healer? I mean.. each dd has their personal judgement call on that type of thing.
I just feel that he has immediately been made into a scapegoat merely because he was seen participating in mercenary services later afterwards... which is pretty much a normal afternoon/evening thing for the FC to do during off days for FC funding purposes. It appears that speculation is attempting to be pushed as fact.
I will clearly state one last time that we DO NOT condone to such practices. Straigus and a few others in the FC, including myself, do not mind helping random pugs outside of merc time just to help here and there... but if we start being utilized as scapegoats for failed runs then I guess we are going to have to refrain from helping random pugs on our free time anymore... which is unfortunate :/ I mean... I literally just helped a titan pug a few mins before typing up this post. It will probably be my last after reading what has been going on with Straigus...
Anyways... TL;DR... I hope we can get pass this and I do hope for the people who happen to have issues with Straigus approach me to settle this problem once and for all. I also highly recommend speaking directly to Straigus himself, and hoepfully you'll see that it just isn't in his character for such low practices as the accusations that is being put on him.
Happy Hunting, Balmung!
