To me this is kind of the "My character is now perfect, nothing else can be better" defense.

Like someone else said, having a relic weapon is pretty much a prerequisite for coil to begin with.

Granted, love it or hate it, the relic quest isn't really that formidable. Most people attribute problems with Titan to lag or just impatient players. So I think a consensus would say he isn't THAT difficult.

So what's wrong with having something to shoot for? Do you really want to be done with the game already?

Personally, the idea of a +7 relic weapon is a bit silly. To put it this way, the Allagans did some pretty awful things to Bahamut. He was the one that brought about the apocalypse so, if they have some little trinket that makes stuff dead, I wants it.
