It really seem to be a new trend to hate FFVII.

Not a new trend for me, I've hated it since it was originally released. It was difficult for me to get into the story, and I couldn't connect with the characters. I developed no emotional attachments to them like I do in other FF games. I wasn't sad at all when Aeris died, just shocked. And if you don't care about the characters, you don't care about the story or the game. It was a chore to even finish it.

My favorite in the entire series was FFVI. I must have played it start to finish at least 20 times.

^ This. I hated VII from day one. I played the Japanese version so that's what I'm most familiar with, but I also played the western version for the weapon fights. It is one of the most broken and horribly translated games around. The only reason it's held in high esteem is because it was A LOT of western gamer's first real RPG game, let alone first FF game based on gamer polls throughout the 90s. The story of VII was lesser than V's.

Yeah..., no... VI is the must buggy Final Fantasy to ever release, PERIOD.

You can hate and we can debate all day long, but lies are lies are lies. Also, both have more than are listed on that wikia.
I'll just end with this, VI (AN AMAZINGLY AWESOME GAME TO BE SURE) was the third game on the SNES made by the same team and it has 31 glitches. VII (AN AMAZINGLY AWESOME GAME TO BE SURE) was the first final fantasy on its console AND it switched consoles durring its development and it only has 18 glitches. And just to compare, IX the 3rd Final Fantasy main title on the PS1 has very very few exploits or glitches. JUST SAYING ^^
