Because a professional game developer would do free work just for an initial pitch. They had a contract with SE and Yoichi Wada was involved right from the beginning. In fact, the game is still going to come out it has just changed developers, probably to Eidos Montreal. For someone taking a position to dispute something you're very short on facts.

And all that information you just spouted (which is on the same wikipedia page posted earlier in the thread) came directly from GRIN so how can we know its true? The Source of all the information about this issue appears to come from GRIN. Theres no mention of it in any of SE's finance reports. Or Eidios.

Silly, don't you know anything about human nature? People will go to great lengths to defend something they've spent money on, especially when they know it was a bad purchase or a waste of money. They actually did a study on it somewhere I wish I could remember right now that proved this. In fact they also proved that the worse they feel about the purchase, the harder they will try to justify it.

The SE finance reports always list atleast project names for all the teams that are actively working on a project.

Well GRIN isn't a team of SE. An unannounced game will probably not even have a project name.

most the alpha & beta testers suck, all they did was flame and cry and troll on the forums about the game only a few people had post worth something and they were flamed for it.

ever since beta testing became a more public thing its been this way in every game
